Perseverance will do things no rover has ever attempted on Mars — and pave the way for humans

I wonder what could be the fastest chemical rocket powered spacecraft that humans can travel to Mars in@Hamartia Antidote

I don't think there is much speed (time of travel) flexibility left in our current chemical propulsion technology beyond what you see in these lift offs by China, Russia and the USA. You have to "lift-off" all your fuel. Faster time of flight to Mars would require more fuel at lift-off. You could imagine strapping together five Saturn boosters to increase your lift off capacity five fold. But to get such a monstrous collection of hardware and fuel ready at the same moment is probably beyond current reliability engineering capabilities. Probably the way to increase the speed to mars is to be able to live on and manufacture rockets and fuel on the moon, and leave from there.

NASA is no longer what it used to be. I no longer have high hopes from them.

I mentioned this before, but there was once a member here that swore the American space shuttle was nothing more than an elaborate hologram.
