What's new

Permission from earlier wives not required for new marriage: Sherani

But he is a Imam, he knows these stuffs directly from Arabic versions.
First of all it looks like he is wrong secondly even he is right that,s not what applicable this civilized modern world where people marry little girls. And i being a secular i think these people should not be in any position to give such statements.`I hate these people with passion. They truly represent the ideology of zia ul haq who destroyed our pakistan. In the pakistan of MA jinnah such people have no right to exist and should not have any authority to dictate people.

you are right . But what about the view points of those people who say that this ideology is for eternity ? How do you see it in that context ?

I am sorry I missed the part about the 13 year old. I undid my ratings.

But please post content instead of feelings and work towards constructive debates
Oh great that tells a lot about a "PDF think tank analyst" who is giving people negative ratings without reading the content of the thread first
Well pedophilia is serious disgusting crime and as a human being we have a natural tendency to get emotional and angry and i am no different.
Anyway thanks for the taking back the negative ratings.

Oh come off the high horse of yours, The problems are easy to blame on religion even though it is not followed. The level of corruption, the paedophilia, the messed up government system, the atrocities committed with minorities, the evil which is there is not religion but rather a lack of it. Just because someone grows a beard and calls himself a scholar does not mean he is one. Jinnah ideology was very simple read it.

@Zarvan @Slav Defence ?

They seem to be pretty well informed, well read on the Koran and hadiths. There was a long thread about the glory of Allah where they had contributed greatly, regularly.
You have to inform your wife not ask for permission no where permission is required neither RASOOL SAW nor any of his Sahabis took permission from first wife to marry another

This is the opinion I agree with but there are other opinions also. Which is why I said this is not a topic for this forum.

How do people know that he is right or wrong ? And also he has studied religion over the ages ? Dont you think more people will be convinced by him rather than ordinary people ? Also this following statement is a danger :

He said the parliament was bound to follow the suggestions made by the CII regarding formulation of laws.

All bills presented in the parliament should be vetted by the CII as according to the Constitution all laws of the country should be formulated in accordance with the Holy Quran and Sunnah, he added.

Dont you think so ?

So he seems to be right then ?

I am not blaming that on religion.I was just we should get used to the norms of modern world and such mullahs should not be given any kind of power and authority.Because we already experimented this zia gave them the power and see we are still suffering . Remember a illiterate person using religion to get into politics and power is good for nothing.
As a chartered accountant i contributed something to this country, engineers contribute, doctors, lawyers etc all contribute.Other than causing harm what these mullahs had ever done something good for Pakistan?

As far as 4 wives are concerned that is allowed. The rest will go through different commissions before any decision is made.

Yes that is true but the interpretation is not up to one man but a group of scholars which then goes to the parliament and is either approved or not.
So he seems to be right then ?
About 4 wives, yes, about the permission, in my opinion, yes. For details again, go to a scholar.

Now here is the true danger. Since no one knows the truth, that Imam seems to win in his quest. If such a law is passed , whether that will be good or bad ?

The mistake we make is that rather then using religion as a contributing factor in society we have degraded it. Mostly the ones with the worst grades and prospects are made religious scholars and they repeat things rather then adapt to changes in society. The problem is we have put religion as a thing for the illiterate to teach us on one day in a week maximum. Were you to invest in their education you would get better scholars. Look at developed countries and their scholars and you will understand what I am trying to say.
