The reason why India wants to join the U.N. as a permanent member is because she wants to be treated as a world power and use the veto power to give Pakistan and other South Asian countries a hard time. We all know what India is up to.

And I know that it's Kashmir that you're thinking of. Rest assured, a nation cannot veto in a dispute which it is part of, so don't have any worries there.

Anyhow, no one is denying that India wants to work towards being a world power down the line (not currently, we are not there yet). That's pretty obvious, no one is denying that.

permanent membership of some islamic countries is also on cards..am sure if UNSC gets restructured muslim state ll be accomodated..its not my claim but many restructure proposals endorse this view..whats unsettled is either these seats ll b accomodated in area/geographical location or given separately..i guess it d b former..like esgypt getting a seat from africa, turkey may get from eurasia, etc

She want to get treated as a world power(every Indian r ready to accept that we r nowhere near to called a superpower) only because it spectacular growth story,our political clout and the biggest of the all we represent 1.2 billion people on this planet(read we represent people not religion's)

So find a better argument for forwarding ur candidature rather than this pitty religion card,even on that basis like i earlier said many members r more qualified than u

I am not saying that Turkey has to be a part of the European Union first then she will accepted as a candidate for u.n. seat.

What I am saying is that the West is not even willing to accept Turkey as a part of the European Union then what makes you think that the West will accpet Turkey as a permanent U.N. member ????

And the only reason why USA and the West is supporting India for a U.N. seat is because the USA wants to use India to hold down China's rise to a great power status.
