1.ask for the password from your friend
2.Reinstall the OS,you only lose the info of System hard disk, others still Ok~

.
If it is a desktop then just turn of your PC, then open your CPU, remove button battery and place it back, start pc again and it will ask for new password.

I have also tried that! :D

Actually it had a password to enter into bios and by removing battery, it clear pass for bios, but not for user account.

. . . .
I've got a problem of my own.

Anyone got Linux experience? I am trying to install Ubuntu on my tc4400. Clean install, everything works. Got the stylus to work, digitizer works. But Screen rotation does not work (someone figured out the script which directs the kernel to sense the swivel hinge for the screen). Tried all the scripts but still no luck. Anyone has any idea?

ps: Originally I run Win XP tablet pc edn, but since I had a spare hdd lying around, I thought I might as well try installing Linux on a tablet pc and try to get all the features working. Just out of curiosity.

then try his gf's name, birthplace, birthdate, home town as password.:D

it's running Window xp. Not sure if it's home edition or other. Because i can't acces in account.
if it has windows xp then the method i told you will work. Removing battery will only work when u have to remove system password. The method i told u is the last chance. Bt condition is your friend didnot activate administrator password while installing windows. Otherwise only reinstall can remove password. But if he didn't put password on administrator then my method will definately work. Try it.

If my friend knew the pass, than He wouldn't left his PC at my home and ask me to figure it out. lol
He does not remember pass.....Himself.

.
If u are talking about window passward especially window xp then you have to press alt+ctrl+del window will appear asking user name and password, enter user name "administrator" and don't enter any password, press enter administor will start window then go to control plan and user settings make a new user and enjoy

Buddy this is a trick which works only when you did not provide password while installing the OS...

I personally did tried this option several times and success rate is just around 30%...

@DesiGuy
Repairing the OS is best and will work for sure without deleting your files in system drive (usually C: )

Yar you have to press ctrl+alt+del without pulling your finger from any key.

.
Really? You sure you aint upto something not good?

You dont really have a choice. Ask your "friend" for the password or as Iluang said, do a clean reinstall of the OS - you will lose every thing.

There's one trick (legal), but I wont tell you.

edit: nvm....................

:what: :disagree:

Ya i am also saying this that there are many chances that users didn't provide any password to administrator and in that case you can use administrator to log in. Except that there is no other method. Running in safemode will only disable folder locks.
