The passengers travelling to Pakistan without having coronavirus health certificate stopped at the airport by a foreign airline.

The passengers who are ready to depart to Pakistan have been stopped by the Etihad Airways’ staff for not possessing COVID-19 pandemic health certificate.

Pakistani authorities had made it mandatory for the submission of coronavirus health certificate for the people arriving in the country.

It emerged that the COVID-19 screening test is being conducted with the charges of 400 British pounds.

Whereas, the health report comes after 48 hours.

On the other hand, Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) set condition to accept only health certificates generated within the time period of 24 hours.

Earlier on Thursday, CAA had clarified that the nationals returning back to Pakistan have been temporarily exempted from the submission of the coronavirus health certificates till March 21.

The relaxation was given by the aviation authorities following the request of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Air Marshal Arshad Malik

If you ask any traveler than he will tell you that it's almost impossible to travel with such conditions.

Usually, people plan to travel in an advance to save money. (15 days to 1 month)

Example: Booking a ticket for after 48 hours would cost more to a Normal Pakistani.

Yes, the idea is to restrict travel. Right now the people should stay where they are except for people on short term visit as they dont have means to stay long.

6th April (Booking) usually people plan to save money and even booked the flight ticket more than 1 month before but I taken only 16 days: 70950.07

He will end by paving extra PKR:

10317.13 (Extra ticket rupees) + 73965 (Corona Test) = 84282 PKR (Minimum)/ per person

People do hard work to earn money but it seems to total waste. Better Pak govt can ask these rupees from then and do the testing in-house and will get profit as well.. All money will be in Pakistan only.... (Two days -people can stay in hotels with Isolate conditions till get the test reports from PIA or airport authority)

This is the premium they have to pay if they want to travel during these times. There is virus going around and the first thing you want to do is travel UK has cases, Italy has cases, etc

It is the responsibility of the country to take care of its citizens be it in their own country or abroad.what If you allow these Pakistanis coming from Italy and Spain and let them go through corona test and if found positive quarantine them or are they there for sending remmitance and you have no responsibility towards them.

Have you ever heard of decisions being made in a people's best overall interests? In this case, the risks of positive cases coming home and spreading the virus outweigh the risks of those folks staying in Europe and infecting fewer Pakistanis. The decision is taken in Pakistan's national interest and is sound.

I live in Europe and will gladly send my remittances and stay here during this crisis.

I dont understand one thing which country issues Health certificate on request US , EU ? Even to get tested for corona you need to prove the circumstances or need to have symptoms. My question here is will our government provide health certificate for foreigners living here when we dont have enough kits ourselves ? How will that be possible for any other country?

Our people dont know about how things work abroad .I think this certificate thing is just to add to miseries of Pakistanis and further confuse them (Practically not possible) .Tell them clearly you are allowed or not they will understand better.

The current scenario with GOP is "you put holes in your ship and let it start sinking , when its half sunk suddenly you realise what will happen to people on board , you declare emergency and pretend that we are trying to save the ship".

Flight tickets are so cheap atm, search any international route. They thought voila, chal chaliye apne watna ve, Na mate! You are not going anywhere at the moment.

People think leaving infested countries like Italy and Spain to infest people in Pakistan is a genius idea, but Pakistani government knows better. This disease is contiguous, even if you don’t have symptoms, you might still pass it on to your family members, especially older members and become cause of their death including many others around you.

O my my...You book your ticket and what not just go to for the testing 48 hrs before....If you are positive, get your refund as many airlines to Europe and within Europe are allowing it just to cut down on intake of any infected patients! So this is a brilliant step!

In Pakistan corona check just started after Taftan debacle. Thousands were already landed from China and other countries way before.But, don't see much impact in Pakistan due to weather condition. It mainly attacked people above 70 and very high risk in 80s..

Are you dumb?
If a person has planned to travel tomorrow and know they are travelling tomorrow, then what stops them from getting the test done today or yesterday?

People need to stop travelling in the first place.
UAE has stopped letting any residents back into the country. Whoever is stuck wherever they went despite knowing what's going on in the world. If people like to be irresponsible then they deserve to be stuck.

It is the responsibility of the country to take care of its citizens be it in their own country or abroad.what If you allow these Pakistanis coming from Italy and Spain and let them go through corona test and if found positive quarantine them or are they there for sending remmitance and you have no responsibility towards them.

It is the responsibility of every country to safeguard its people from anyone bringing infection to them. That includes the dumb citizens who want to travel now. If they really want to, then they should be willing to pay up the amount for their test. Why should the state take a risk just because they want to travel?
