Punjab is definitely being pushed back into militancy.

If we keep on self patting how successfully averted the disastrous attack then chances are high ....
If I go by my way few heads must roll especially some of Punjab police & bsf.....

The entire story of hijacking this vehicle is suspect & does not make sense. The Punjab Police has gone rotten to the core. This Policeman ( I refuse to call him an officer) seems a part of the problem for more reasons than one,



Ask yourself why would a terrorist let off anyone who has seen them ? It does not matter who the person is - once compromised they would kill him and not laet him off to tell his story & raise an alarm.

The Policeman had evidently gone to help cross these men as they do to drug smugglers.

The DSC men killed were mostly in the Langar ( Dining area) . They were staff preparing breakfast & cooks do not carry weapons while cooking. Yet the Havildar did well by engaging one in combat & killing him only to fall to bullets of another.

As regards their age, check what is the retiring age of a Jawan / JCO in the BSF/ CRP or anyother PMF . These man are the same age. They retire from the army in late 30's / Early 40's and voluntarily seek further employment .

What makes you feel that Nuclear installations are guarded by the DSC alone ?

Coming from an Army environment these men are far more professional & dedicated than any of the PMF




All this is a lie that needs verification.

There is a massive concentrated disinformation going on. Difficult to separate fact from fiction with Media pissing all over the place with their speculative and at times straight out fictional reporting.

I was satisfied by DM briefing which divulged information on need to know basis and at the same time admitted the gaps without elaborating on them for obvious reasons.

The Punjab Police do need an overhaul and stern leadership to guide them back towards the light considering the sensitivities involved in Punjab and our beloved neighbors looking for any excuse to stir up the pot.

Operation decisions like deploying NSG instead of SF and reported chain of command mess do need to be looked into as some of the concerns highlighted are quite valid.

There are 3 glaring questions infront of the nation....

1) How did they manage to enter the base????
2) How did they cross the border.... BSF is not able to find the trace (which normally they does)
3) What is the role of SP and his friend???

To an extent I am satisfied the way govt handled this entire event, unlike previous cases, there were no chest thumping, nor taking political mileage..... The communication and briefings were only had points which is need to know.......Not only that I was happy that DM raised questions and doubts which most of us has......

The Drugs problem in Punjab is going to take a heavy toll on the nation. Nothing is secure now. Many people are getting involved for money. Even some in responsible positions. Once they get involve, there is no escape. Then they end up doing what they are told. Drug smuggling in border states should be tackled on national security basis, otherwise more Pathankot kind of incidents will occur.
It is very clear that our own countrymen were assisting the terrorists in logistics. As the saying goes, everyone is on sale, only the rates are different.

What i understand, this base (or the area where terrorist were found ) is kind of a little town and they even got a KV inside the base, so you have 100's if not 1000's of unarmed people live there..... You cant protect everyone inside, the only way to protect them would be by preventing the terrorist from entering the base.....

As far I know the mess was close to the wall. And in most of the camps the guards on duty usually patrol around the walls. Btw the camp is spread over 25kms.

i have seen the border area. almost whole border between india and pakistan is protected by fences and watch towers after evey 200 to 300 ms. indian BSF have patrols all day and night. they have search lights installed at towers and fences. Any person or vehicles cannot cross those two three layered fences. How come it is possible that peope from Pakistan (according to indian media) infiltrated across the border with arms and supplies ?

Its very easy to shattered confidence. When Indian army think, they have best security and nothing more can be done from that point. That's the point , where your enemy want to see and strike.

I have said this many times on many threads, but I am repeating it again.
Punjab has about 100kms of riverine terrain. Ravi and Satlej rivers have steep gradients around them- not easy to fence.
Other than that, there are shortage of BoPs along this border- fences are not enough you see.
