dont take me wrong but I wish pak army stop using English. they need to communicate in Urdu. I believe there might be many many soldiers who can not progress due to language barrier even they might be highly talented. same applies to IT/engineering fields. they need to translate everything in Urdu just like Chinese, Russian, German, Italian, French did. trust me this will be a game change for country.
sorry if I ruined your thread. just trying to bring up positive point.:-)

Hi,

Better learn the language if you want to progress---.

URDU is a wasteful and a useless language---. It is best suited for poetry---so let it stay where it is---. It is not the language of my elders---even though we speak it as urdu speaking natives---.

We should also start teaching chinese and spanish at the ground level starting from children---.

you missed the key point (progress). why do you need to learn other language to progress? do you know why other nations progressed? to be honest what I have learned that many many people in Pakistan dont understand our nation anthem because of farsi. we dont even use farsi. lets make everything in Urdu and plain simple for our people because they are far behind. they need to catch up and only way is to fix our language. if we dont make it easy for all of us then most of us will give up. we need to see how other nations did and they did it by utilizing their language :)
I do understand your point but hope you understand my point :)

Hi,

When you talk to me---ask me why---and don't tell me what you think---because your kind of thinking has destroyed the learning abilities of the nation---. You have become an illiterate nation---one of the only nation in its class that has negative learning ratio---.

If those pakistanis who are left behind don't catch up learning english or chinese---they will be left behind forever---.

Yes I know why other nations progressed---.

But you will stay illiterate to understand why we progressed faster than any other poor 3rd world nations.

Chinese had chinese language for 1000's of years---and english had their language for 1000 years as did the germans for thousand years---the italians---the french--the russians---.

Where does urdu stand---no where---barely couple of 100 years and not even that---.

And whose language is URDU---not my language or any part of pakistan's language---it is the language of immigrants of a certain area into pakistan.

People like you are the true enemies of the poor and average pakistanis---.

You are the real SABOTEURS of pakistan---you learn english----teach it to your children---and yet when it comes to the general poor public---you start preaching NO ENGLISH---.

Speak up---and don't use these useless pointers---.

I guess you are right :)

Hi,

You have NO POINT for anyone to understand---.

In my teen years---I grew up with the builders of pakistani nuc program---. Their language of choice was english----. They could conversate freely in that language and give lectures in the US UK Canada whichever institution they worked for---wrote their research and thesis and made pakistan nuc program a success---.

Same with the Paf---their linguistic skills made them the best possible pilots that they were---. Even the great Mullah of the PAF MM Alam preferred to speak english when he had to express himself hard---.

You nailed it, As far as I am concerned I am not against any language including Urdu but what I don't understand is the hypocrisy of some people on this forum who are almost "perfect" in English yet they preach that "English" should be booted out of Pakistan and replaced with Urdu, the reason is pretty simple Urdu must be the everyday language that is spoken in their homes or their mother language or cultural or ancestral language or whatever. For me any language be it Urdu, my own Punjabi language, English or German are just tools for communication and to gain knowledge. The more I master them the better it would be for me for obvious reasons.

No. It was the Punjabi Establishment. Period!

It has been anything but "indigenous punjabi", it has always been dominated by the people with immigrant backgrounds (whether punjabi or urdu speaking doesn't make much difference).
