They aren't the only ones. There are similarly plenty of Pakhtun who have completely assimilated into the Indian culture and are cent percent Indians.

Sharukh khan and rest of others call them selves indians coz they are born and brought up in india. That's why they call them selves indians. It's natural thing if some person is brought up in some peculiar area then he/she will develop attachment to that area. My few cousins were born in Pakistan but then later on they settled in England and were brought up in England. And now they call them selves British and they even have adopted their culture. They don't even speak urdu anymore. So basically the pakthuns who were migrated to india, have adopted their culture and guess what, they don't even speak Pashto anymore.

My friend you are just watching the one side of the coin. In india there are only 6000 Pakthuns. And all of them were migrated to india after 1947. The native place for pakthuns is Pakistan and afghanistan. There is about 50 million pakthuns living in Pakistan. 70% of Pakthuns of world is living inside Pakistan, around 20% of which are living in afghanistan.
And just visit Pakistan and Afghanistan, you guys will see they have totally different cultures form india, they even have their own language (Pashto). There life style is totally different.
And if you ask any pakistani including Pakhtuns that they are indians then they will beat you to death Lol.

My grandfather was also Indian as his forefather just like me. lol Jinnah and Iqbal were also Indians for most of their live. We are Indians for last 5000 years.

Thar desert and Sutlej river???? Really? If some day KP or Sindh become independent they will say same to you. Thar desert and Sutlej river were always inside India. Read the history. Sindh, whole Punjab, Gandhar had same culture just like rest of India. Now they are different thanks to creation of Pakistan.

Throughout the history of India many nomadic tribes invaded the subcontinent and all of them got assimilated by Hindi culture. The Turks were the last successful nomadic power in India until they got assimilated just like Hunas, Yuezhi, Sakas and other steppe nomads. Pashtuns also belong to this category but the Pashtuns are an exception because they are the only nomadic group who could establish a base in India and Pakistan til today. The ironic thing is that Pashtuns suddenly diasppear in Northern India and Pakistan as an Eastern Iranian speaking people who replace the Turkic rulers of Delhi. They ruled parts of Northern India, Punjab, Sindh and Kyhber Pakthunkwah from 1461-1526 only to be conquered by the Turkic Mughals who ruled India from the 15th-19th century. Well we all know what happened to Mughals. The descendants are either Indians or Pakis today. Pashtuns still speak their native tongue so Indians failed in assimilating Pashtuns.

punjabis did not get assimilated with Tamil, or Sindhis did not get assimilated into Bangla, ethnicity gets assimilated by the nearest neighbor and Pashtun get assimilated by Punjabis and hence Saraiki and Hindko was the result of it. I belong to a hindko speaking family and we are closer to Pashtuns than Punjabis, I feel like a stranger among Punjabis although I can understand their language but I feel closer to Pathans even though I dont understand Pushto.

In the old hindu religion Satlaj was their boundry and crossing Satlaj was a paap, just like sea travel was a paap. There was no entity called India, India was a creation of British. So we were part of British India but most of Pakistan was never part of hindustan.

I think OP must have misunderstood that descendents of Pashtun rulers of Delhi sultanates, are todays Pashtuns (Pashto speaking) of Pakistan. Pashtuns of Pakistan have more to do with Afghanistan than Hindostan, here is map of the pashtun majority areas of Pakistan. (Region by name of Afghanistan, mentioned by Mughal babur in baburnama , the afghanistan of that time got divided into two parts of almost same size by durand line in 1893)

First for all hindko are different from Pakhtuns. And Pakthuns were originated in western parts of Pakistan and eastern parts of afghanistan.

Culturally we Pakistanis (pakthuns, Baloch, Pakistani punjabis, Sindhis and Kashmiris ) are totally different from Indians we have totally different culture. And yes you are right 67 years doesn't changes anything it takes thousands of years to create a peculiar culture. These Pakistani native cultures existed even 5000 of years back in time. It did not developed after 1947. So basically the point that I'm raising is that we Pakistanis are different from Indians we had our own culture which even existed before 1947. It's not that before 1947 all Pakistanis were Hindus and had indian culture and all of a sudden we developed our own culture. Culture takes thousands of years to develop it won't develop over one night.

Their weddings are totally Islamic with no music and no lightnings. Their men sometimes wear kotie just like other Pakistanis. Their cuisine is also different from india. They basically rely more on meat and dry fruits etc.
