There is a thread opened recently to list down the accomplishments of General Qamar Bajwa. I think you can list reversal of accomplishments achieved by the previous leadership.

I don't have an iota of doubt about the previous leadership. You know me, when I say leadership, I include corps commanders and other Lt. generals in it.

I don't believe that the strategic objectives are changed with the change in leadership. Tactical goals or operational policies may change with the change in leadership, and that's where we criticize the chief, when in our opinion, we see tactical or operational policies appear to be harming rather than consolidating the gains made by the previous leadership. Army chief's role in defining the operational policies is much more than in the strategic ones. So yes, his actions till now are not impressive. In my opinion, these actions do not seem to achieve the objectives effectively and efficiently. If I am allowed to say it clearly, the previous Army chief thought that all culprits in the Dawn Leaks should be identified and reported to the nation in the interest of national security no matter what happens afterwards, and the current Army chief thinks that national security will be compromised after bringing the name of the real culprit due to many other reasons, I doubt the judgement of current General more than the previous one, however, I don't doubt the intentions of both.

Current general must remember that an extremely similar case happened in the era of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) when a lady of an influential tribe was caught for stealing and the Prophet (SAW) was advised to let her go, and Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said these historic words:

تم سے پہلے کی قومیں اسی لئے برباد ہوگئیں کہ جب کوئی بڑا آدمی جرم کرتا تو اس کو چھوڑ دیتے اور جب معمولی آدمی جرم کرتا تو وہ سزا پاتا۔ خدا کی قسم اگر محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی بیٹی فاطمہ رضہ بھی چوری کرتی تو اس کے ہاتھ بھی کاٹے جاتے۔​

So if Gen Qamar Bajwa thinks that his policies will get him better results, he has seriously gone off track. When Prophet (SAW) made it clear that even his (SAW) daughter (RA) would have been punished, there is no one on this planet who can enjoy any type of concession when it comes to application of laws. Aur Baji tou aakhri aurat honi chahiey kisi bhi concession ke liey.

Previous Army chief's policies yielded better results. His aggressive posture was, and still is the need of time in my opinion. Although I doubt he would have punished baji, had he been still there, but at least she would have been identified as a culprit.

I am again saying, I am not doubting the intentions of Gen Bajwa. In his opinion, he might be handling the things in the right manner, but according to recent Gallup Survey, at least 64% population does not think like him.

General RS's policies ke kia hi kehnay, he changed the perception of the nation about Army completely. For the first time in my life, I started thinking that we would be successful as a nation, Army would still be on the driving seat even if they didn't takeover. And I thought the the next chief will follow his footsteps after seeing the huge success and the respect his predecessor has earned.

The thing which I am hating now..most is tht...rumors and news are being spread tht it was Gen Raheel Sharif who gave concessions to Maryam, since the first day of dawn leaks...and he decided it all by himself tht Maryam wont be touched.. Haroon Rashid has been spreading this news...tht a serving Lt gen told him ke us se poocho jo Fied Martial banna chahta tha... Us ne concession diya tha...hum ne nahi... I am shocked..if some lt gen did really say this, regd Gen Raheel Sharif? Or whether haroon rashid is exaggerating?

Nov since he is gone...so its easy to blame him..and then everyone relates it to his job in KSA..tht he gave tht concession to Maryam in exchange of tht job... Firstly i am not ready to accept tht his job in KSA is his individual or personal decision.. If the current army leadership didnt want him to go there..he would have never been allowed to take tht job..

Even i agree tht ..had Gen Raheel Sharif been there as COAS...still.. maryam might not have still been punished...i agree...and tht makes sense too.. But probably whole report might have been made public.... Infact I am almost sure, this would have been the case... And unlike Gen Bajwa, gen Raheel was very conscious of public image of himself and army as a whole.. He would have never given such an obvious impression of NRO on dawn leaks..

Now ppl say tht his popukarity was only due to Gen Asim Bajwa's spin and projection of him.. I am surprised even ppl like Sheikh Rashid say so openly.. I believe ..tht no one can make anyone hero..or zero.. Its the actions tht speak.... Just like CJ Saqib Nisar, said to IK,.ke logon ka adlia par aitemad barqarar rehna chahye...aur dissenting notes ko koi itna highlight nahi kiya jaata... IK ke kehnay ya na kehnay se kuch nahi hoga.. Its only actions of our judiciary through which it will gain or lose credibility.. Aaj Justice Khosa ya Gulzar ko kisi ki zuroorat nahi hai ke koi un ke liye kahay ke hum par aitemaad karo.. Justice Khosa aur Gulzar ne kisi se nahi kaha ke media par humari verdict ko ziada highlight karo... Jo baat sach hoti hai aur dil ko lagti hai..log khud ba khud yaqeen kartay hain.. Theres no Gen Asim bajwa projecting Justice Khosa and Gulzar, yet they are heroes.. It proves only actions speak...not words ..

If Gen Qamar Bajwa really said those words in quetta after dawn leaks ke koi politicians mere jootay ki nok nahi khareed sakta...then these words are very similar to those of CJ Saqib Nisar after panama case verdict.. CJ knew tht ppl have been disappointed by panama verdict and he was asking IK to try and regain the trust of judiciary in eyes of public.. Similarly Gen Bajwa knows tht his actions have shattered trust..so just now trying to regain tht lost trust.. But he must know..tht only words are never enough... Actions speak louder than words..

I have a friend who belongs to a business family.. She told me, after almost 10 days of Gen Raheel Sharif's retirement..ke gen Raheel se pehle when my father and brother used to go to their factory every morning..hum log har waqt dartay rehtay thay..har roz bas duaaein kartay thay ke kheriat se ghar wapis aajayein.. Itni bhatta khori aur us par killings hoti theen.. Gen Raheel Sharif ke baad..ab bhatta khori almost bilkol hi khatam hogayi hai.. She told me, ke mera bhai tu Gen Raheel Sharif ka die hard fan hai.. Unke khilaf ek lafz nahi sunn sakta.. This is coming from someone..who has experienced first hand, of effects of karachi operation.. As I said onky karachiites can tell the real effects of karachi operation in Gen Raheel Sharif 's time..

Do u remember in dharna days...PM Nawaz Sharif..said IK and Tahirul Qadri wanted Gen Raheel Sharif to inteervene..aur mujhe tu baad main bataya gaya? Then a tweet came from ISPR..tht no..it was the PM who asked for Gen Raheel Sharif's mediation? Un dino yaad hai..kiya haalat thay? Much more serious than dawn leaks.. Army was directly blamed for conspiring against democracy through dharna ... But then what did Gen Raheel Sharif and ISPR do? They simply tweeted...tht COAS was asked by PM to intervenec.. Nothing like tht PM statement is rejected.. RATHER ISPR simply said that COAS was asked by PM to mediate.. Thts it.. Gen Raheel Sharif...at tht time..saved democarcy too.. He didnt impose Martial LAW.. BUT at the same time.. He did not shatter the trust of nation on its armed forces either.. He did not lie.. He simply stated the truth..and then did not back down on it.. And YES.. did NOT derail democracy either...

Image of army went very down in eyes of public during Gen Kiyani's sec tenure too esp after Abbottabad and Salala..but Gen Raheel Sharif brought the image and trust of public on armed forces back...without any Martial law... He entirely changed the perception of army in public through his actions for peace and stability and his assertive stance on corruption...

Those who are saying tht do u want Gen Bajwa to impose Martial law? They can just refer to recent example of Gen Raheel Sharif who didnot impose Martial but was widely respected by the public due to his actions...

And now within few months after his retirement.. Army's image has gone completely down.to the extent .where even ppl like me..think tht whether we will be ever able to trust army leadership ever again?

Gen Raheel Sharif provided hope to the nation, and boosted its morale...at a time..when corruption and terrorism was at its peak.. Nation would have been severely demoralised if Gen Raheel sharif wasnt there at the scene.. Nawaz Sharif aur Zardari tu mil kar khaa jatay mulk ko... Aur karachi ka tu Allah maaf karay...pata nahi kia haal hota? Ofcourse IK provided some hope also at the political scene..but he wasnt in power.. In power circles..nation looked up to Gen Raheel Sharif as a symbol of hope..

I think...ke Gen Raheel Sharif ..as COAS thora jaldi aagaye.. I wish if he had been COAS...when Justice Khosa would be CJ..tht would have been one hell of a lethal combination...for the corrupt..

I am afraid tht Gen Bajwa doesnt prove to be for army what Zardari was to PPP...

JIT ye bhi soch rahi hai ke pehle unhein written questinnaire bhi diya jaa sakta hai.wajid Zia was also head of JIT in BB case.. Unhon ne Musharraf ke farmhouse jaa kar us waqt unka statement liya tha.. Ab bhi hosakta hai aisa..

Balke main tu yeh soch rahi hun ke agar 2014 main election rigging commission main Justice Khosa hotay ..instead of advocate and other 2 judges tu us commission ka result bhtt different hosakta tha.. Probably 2014 main NS se jaan choot chuki hoti...intead of such decision ke sab kuch ghalat hua lekin dhandli nahi hui.. If Justice Khosa was part of tht commission..most probably ther would have been very clear verdict on rigging

Ab tu main ye soch rahi hun ke jaisy 2002 referrendum case main inhein bench se hataa diya tha... Kahin 2014 main election rigging commission main kahin aisa tu nahi ..ke inhein jaan boojh kar na rakha gaya ho??

But ek cheez achi hai.. In next elections in 2018 ..Justice Khosa will be the CJ ..and if theres massive election rigging again..then parties can take the case to SC.. He will surely entertain it

My respect for him keeps increasing with each passing day.. As just an ordinary judge of LHC, he was ready to challenge military President of tht time..for election rigging and fraud.. Aur yeh sab tab hua...jab CJ Iftikhar Ch ke liye lawyers movement chali bhi nahi thee.. After lawyers movement and restoration of judiciary...judges phir bhi govt ke against decisions denay lagay hain.. But in 2002... When Parvez Musharraf's popularity was at peak too..us waqt referendum ki petition sunna..and then to challenge the ruling military President.and issue notice to him for election fraud......Wow..tht requires some serious guts
