Lagta nahi hai.. jab tak ECP main tareeqay ke log nahi aajatay aur Overseas Pakistanis ko voting right nahi milta, I don't think elections possible hain..

Lagta nahi hai.. jab tak ECP main tareeqay ke log nahi aajatay aur Overseas Pakistanis ko voting right nahi milta, I don't think elections possible hain..
But I may be wrong..

Expats ko voting rights ECP day sakta hay.

There are obnoxious election laws with just older and weak election law to fall back on.

There is too much on SCP, NAB and accountability court's plate. ECP is firmly in the pocket of Bakvas Sharif. It is chaos but there is a method to Bakvas Sharif's madness, get away with as much as possible by overwhelming the odds.

CJ has clarified about judicial or military martial law. There is no question of anything extra constitutional.

It has to be a step wise clean-up and rectification effort has to start not just immediately but yesterday.

The first clear step is to take care of this madness and political chaos as well as incitement against the State, rule of law and justice:
A media ban on Bakvas and Maryam - without such a ban on their contemptuous speeches and incitement, they are deadly dangerous to rule of law, judges themselves and Constitution as we know it - both before and after elections.

Second step is to ask the NA and Senate to form committees to rectify/ repeal controversial election laws and make them strict starting from nomination forms, and including enabling expatriates voting.

Third step to be taken, simultaneously with the second, is to review delimitation of constituencies.

Step two and three must be time barred to enable timely or ASAP of holding the elections...this will leave the ball in Elected assemblies ambit to decide about timely elections or any delays shall be responsibility of elected reps and not SCP.

The CJP is saying nothing extra constitutional then I don't see anything less than the above can ensure fair and free elections...otherwise, it's going to be another farce in the name of it.

Nawaz Sharif ready to negotiate with institutions says PM Abbasi

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has expressed that his predecessor Nawaz Sharif was ready to negotiate with institutions, however, he did not believe in any sort of NRO (National Reconciliation Ordinance).

Expressing his views in a television talk show on Friday, the premier said that Nawaz Sharif would oversee party affairs, even if imprisoned by the accountability court, adding that not even the dictators succeeded in putting an end to the politics of Nawaz Sharif.

The legislator declared that it was not a big deal for PML-N’s ‘Quaid for life’ to be in jail or outside it as he had been sent behind bars in past as well.

‘Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz neither struck an NRO type deal nor it believes in any such arrangement’ asserted the premier.

Abbasi, who replaced Nawaz Sharif after the top court disqualified him in Panama Papers case, continued that all the state institutions jointly work for the progress of the country and his party was not on a collision course with other political forces.

The prime minister noted that the incumbent government would complete its term and general elections would be conducted soon after installing the caretaker government with consultation from political forces.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi also expressed his dismay over the political role of Pakistan Peoples Party expressing it was a matter of surprise that the Senate chairman had no political affiliation.
