Palm oil falls 2% on lower-than-expected exports amid India-Malaysia tensions

Well there are other Muslim countries too, like Pakistan, Turkey, the whole Middle East. Time that all these countries acted like a single global market and flexed their collective buying power.

https://news.yahoo.com/bangladesh-open-increasing-palm-oil-071452973.html

Here are the top 15 countries that spent the most on imported palm oil during 2018.
  1. India: US$5.5 billion (17.5% of total palm oil imports)
  2. China: $3.4 billion (10.8%)
  3. Pakistan: $1.9 billion (6.1%)
  4. Netherlands: $1.8 billion (5.7%)
  5. Spain: $1.3 billion (4.2%)
  6. United States: $1.1 billion (3.6%)
  7. Bangladesh: $1 billion (3.3%)
  8. Italy: $997 million (3.2%)
  9. Russia: $748.4 million (2.4%)
  10. Egypt: $686.2 million (2.2%)
  11. Germany: $583.7 million (1.9%)
  12. Myanmar (Burma): $575.8 million (1.8%)
  13. Japan: $536.4 million (1.7%)
  14. Vietnam: $513.4 million (1.6%)
  15. Malaysia: $452.8 million (1.4%)

I'm sure Indian palm oil purchase is 3 billion or less from Malaysia. So if we add pakistan and Bangladesh it is equal to 3 billion. We can easily replace it. Instead of Indonesia and else where we can buy from Malaysia. While Indonesia can increase the price for Bharti terrorists. Put $h1t on these Bharti low lives faces.

.
It is just a short term crisis for Malaysia, because India will be replaced by many other countries in the region, including China.

If Indonesia produces 1 million tonnes of palm oil and the demand of its palm oil was suppose 1 million tonnes before India-Malaysia trade war, an extra demand from India will stretch Indonesian supply and many countries which used to buy from Indonesia will switch to Malaysia.

The price is fallen just 2 % while Palm Oil Price has been in huge increase in late 2019. It looks like Indonesian 20% biodiesel program affect the market so hard. That data that show decreasing import is more likely caused by increasing Palm Oil price that make the trader switch the buying into soybeans and sunflower oil @Beast

This is the news in December.

Eye-Watering Palm Oil Price Sees India Turn to Sunflower

Palm oil’s searing rally likely forced many buyers from India to the sidelines in November, with purchases by the world’s biggest importer dropping to a five-month low. Sunflower oil imports jumped.

The world’s most-consumed cooking oil has soared about 50% since the middle of July on concerns about falling output and growing demand for biofuel, making shipments expensive for the South Asian nation. Lower purchases by India may boost inventories in top producers Indonesia and Malaysia, and potentially put a lid on prices. “The speed at which prices rose wasn’t expected by the market,” said G

But that's how microeconomics work. If the price of one good increases and there is a close substitute, quantity demanded of that good will decrease while the quantity demanded of the substitute will increase. Think of the reason why coke and pepsi are around the same price.

Arabic league boycott ??? Dont you know that almost all Muslim countries are boycotting Israel, including Indonesia?

Even their PM cannot use our airspace to reach Australia

Without financial help from USA every year, Israel will be near bankrupt.

How do you conclude such things that are far from reality?....Hear Say? based on information provided by local media? Biased sites on internet?

Basic idea has already become crystal clear. Bangladesh, Turkey and Pakistan can increase imports of Palm oil from Indonesia and Malaysia in preference to other countries and they can do it by conversion of transport fuel to bio-diesel. It'll be like Brazil's sugarcane juice additive to petroleum.

We will see then what these low-life Indian Sanghis do with their economic bigotry. Already India's economy has ground close to a halt because of all sorts of issues including petroleum crisis. Read this Harvard study and weep Sanghis.

I found that there is something deeper to this palm olein fiasco. One of the charts shows a steep drop in FMCG products, a majority of which (cheap Indian soap) is made with Palm Olein.

This means two things:

a) Get ready to deal with more sweaty unbathed unkempt Sanghis, including those that went outside to answer the call in the morning....ewwww!

b) Indian importers automatically lowered imports of Palm Olein because of the FMCG purchases drop and they are passing it off as 'restricted imports' end economic tit-for-tat against Uncle Mahathir (Modiji jo kaha to Nariel tel ka import ban kar dia). Typical Indian bania dhokeybaaji (fraud and cheatery).

Mahatir sure don't know when to keep his mouth shut. Why do you think Chinese will take concession when Mahatir has taken Uygur refugees, called them out on it then came back claiming victimhood similar to what he said about India. What can we do, China (India) is big. Right...

The truth is the guy is in his 90s. One way or another, he will be gone within a few years, and a more pragmatic ruler will take his place. Then Indo-Malaysia relations will go back to normal.

Mahatir is probably going in few months, give power to Anwar Ibrahim as promised.
For the time being, it's better to ignore Mahatir.
