Actually it does. Iran need Hamas in order to paint it's foreign policies as some kind of struggle against Israel. Hamas is only ally of Iran that engages in combat with Israel. The rest are engaged in civil war/domestic affairs. And will be seen for what it is.

Iran's leader support for Palestine is unconditional as long as they would be willing to fight for the Palestine cause as it's done so far despite sectarian views, regional activity, economical pressure and sanctions.
