india exploded first nuclear device 1974. They must have been working on it for years, they did not make it over night. So if there is evidence that pakistan nuclear hunger started before 1974 detonation, it may be true. With intel indicating indian wishes and plans, reinforced by 1971 war, maybe (and rightly) pakistan did start before 1974.

Exactly, what was so hard to understand about that? The US sure wants us to stay under pressure but we are stupid as well. When our President should have been visiting China & Iran & Saudi Arabia & UAE & Russia etc. he decides to visit US & UK instead....to get dictations! The only problem is that our entire leadership that comes to power comes enslaved by the west so they bloody stay quiet like dogs! Musharraf was the man, he still is but he was politically trapped and sidelined.

Kashmir is the biggest and most important dispute I agree but as my good Indian friends suggested that India was made on morals and principles and that Dalai Lamai is provided asylum on humanitarian grounds then why do they occupy millions of Kashmir's against their will especially when Kashmir should have come to Pakistan as the census stood 80% Muslim? No country is so black and white. I, like many others, also believe that the recent attack on Sri Lankan cricketers was carried out by RAW agents!

If only we somehow solve our border disputes, water disputes and Kashmir dispute, stop meddling in each others internal affairs and stop carrying out or supporting terrorist activities in each others countries we can prosper at an admirable rate. Asia can become more powerful economically then Europe or Americas. If only!

yesterday i was watching a tv serial "prison break" from fox tv. they are talking about india-china war and india pakistan war in serials also and trying to promote it. WTF.....

i also watched few episode of prison break (1st season) but it's meanless to talk about wars between Pakistan-India etc in that type of fiction! i simply don't understand...

US reports are into slandering Pakistan especially by the Neocons. Exactly, the same point I wanted to say. Moreover, 90000 Pakistani troops surrendered, why? perhaps intel had news of Indian Capability of Nuclear arms and they decided to surrender instead of seeing their cities vanish.

there is not a much differrence in 1972 & or 1974. Important thing is that before China German black markets especially the european firm Urenco proved to us a blessing in disguise when AQ Khan got his hands on centrifuge blueprints!!

Pakistan's 'nuke quest' predated India's nuclear test in terms of nuclear power or nuclear weapon?

IIRC, Pakistan did have a nascent nuclear power program predating India's test. but the weapons program was initiated by ZA Bhutto after the test.
