Pakistan’s Risky Reliance on China Set to Grow

So let's just sit back and become super weak and ripe for invasion just like the Iraqis and Afghans......
Remember, under the Sino-Pakistan Agreement the concept of Chinese territory is recognized but the concept of Pakistani territory is not; only "contiguous areas the defence of which is under the actual control of Pakistan" - i.e., Chinese sovereignty is inherent but Pakistani sovereignty is not.

So if, say, Pakistan can't pay its CPEC bills and runs short of money so that its forces must withdraw then China can claim the entire CPEC corridor as its own: Gwadar would be more Chinese than the Suez Canal was Egyptian. I do not think Pakistanis realize this unique vulnerability Pakistan has to China's debt-trap diplomacy.

By the end of the day Chinese are businessmen and they will extract a pound of flesh by hook or crook. Like any other businessman!

There is no free lunch.

It’s the responsibility of GOP to protect its interests not China or America.

So what is the big deal? Any investor looks for a profitable return of investment. Don't hate China for taking its fair share. China is investing tens of billions of dollars whilst others are spectators.

You think the US provided F-16s and economic aid free of charge all these years? The Americans almost destroyed Pakistan's stability in exchange for cancerous aid.

At least China is providing loans which are not in exchange for our security and well-being. We know what we are getting. We are not getting Afghan refugees, US drone strikes, misery and bloodshed which we received from our dear ally US.

Here comes the bitter truth. The West is an onlooker in Pakistan and it is sour grapes. All they could do is blame and terrorise Pakistan. China came along and assisted Pakistan. Now that CPEC has started to produce results the West is panicking that it has no share. The malicious propaganda reeks with jealousy and hatred. The West has missed the train. The US has missed the train. China hopped on the Pakistan train and is going to reap the benefits.

A big fvcking middle finger to all our enemies. China, Pakistan and Russia will continue to cooperate. This is just the beginning. The US and India will have to hold their nerve because we are just getting started here.

LOL Sour grapes buddy. Scare tactics have no use. I think you are confusing China with the US. It is better for you to just spectate.

CPEC is a reactionary strategy to the blatant, up to no good American-Indian nexus going about since 90s, at the expense of Pakistan national interests. These two out of all nations, really can't moan and bitch about it.

This is how desperate and pathetic India and the US have become. These two nations are having a honeymoon of their lives. From illegal nuke exchange to burgeoning the Indian economy. Not to mention the arms deals for India meant to confront Pakistan and China.

It is beyond absurd where the US finds the audacity to lecture Pakistan not to cooperate with China. What a pathetic losers.

Please provide a link to the evidence to support your claims. Otherwise they are completely baseless and false.

Also, if China is so hell bent on taking over Pakistan then why did they give us the means to become a nuclear weapons state when the rest of the world tried to stop us?

Of course. Just click on the link provided and read the agreement yourself. No need to trust my word for it.

We don't trust letters coming out of your mouth. Words are too much.

Wikipedia is not a reliable or irrefutable source. Need to do FAR better than that for your claims to be even remotely believeable.

I second that. These are the same types of people who were vehemently claiming that america would destroy Pakistan before we become a nuclear weapons state......

Also, have you noticed that these types NEVER EVER have any reliable and irrefutable evidence to support their outlandish, ludicrous and preposterous claims...I wonder why........

CPEC is just a propganda, from that whole Project,Pakistan would gain nothing. If National Economies are built on collecting toll tax and transit fees from users, then Egypt would have been a rich country,so would have been Panama.
CPEC is another lolly pop like Democracy.

True. Still, Pakistan can draw economic benefits from CPEC if it just improved its governance and reduce corruption. Easier said than done, of course, but its something it should do lest it squander this opportunity.

Since when has India ever been so concerned about Pakistan's well being. Only China would want to see a stable, developing and economically growing Pakistan. OBOR, CPEC are focused on infrastructure development in developing countries in Asia, Africa. Everybody will benefit from it. Well India is suspicious of everything and prefers Pakistan to remain poor and undeveloped for obvious reasons. After seeing the Gwadar presentation Indians here have been trying to warn Pakistan members about the threat of losing territory, forever indebted.

We laugh at American and Indian warnings. How can we take the warnings of our enemies seriously?

Lol......lol...............that's EXACTLY what I've been saying. You know Pakistan must be doing something very right and progressing massively when members of the race and nation that call for the destruction & extermination of the Pakistani race and nation are all of a sudden concerned with our economic well being.................I wonder why...........:azn:
