According to the Pak sources it's flight path was coinciding with that of the civilian aviation which was quite busy at that time...

It would be interesting to know who was on that plane that Indians wanted to assassinate, incase it was an assassination attempt.

It's unclear as Brahmos cruise missile is provided to all the three forces in India. But they are now a days conducting tests on a Su-30 to launch this missile. So it's highly unlikely that it was launched from an aerial platform. Most probably missile was launched from a ground launcher in some airbase. Even the launchpad location don't match as per Pakistani and Indian reports. Indian report says Ambala and ISPR says sirsa
