let Inidan players in and you can drive this beast home for a little more than 30Lakh PKR ( High end)
@AZADPAKISTAN2009while we got nothing except crappy models from the 80s.
.
If I can share my experience/observations and after having spoken to many experienced car mechanics with 25+ years of experience French(Renault,Citeron,Peuget) and Italian(Alfa Romeo,Fiat,) they are garbage and should be avoided. A car should be spending more time carrying you about than at the garage being fixed! Fiat has bought Dodge and Chrysler well good luck to their owners.
Sporty Italian are no better but they are not at everyones reach plus sporty cars require far more maintanance as well.
The most successful engine ever made and unless I heard wrong is Honda V-Tec (petrol) type, overwhelming majorty are still running successfully.
VW would be a good addition if it so because in china Volkswagen is very common ...and now we are making CPEC that would be of great help
because most people can't really afford to pay for a other than a bottom end suzuki.
Although introducing american junks would not be such a bad idea, they're still better than anything offered by suzuki or toyota in Pakistan.
Toyota Camry is the top selling sedan in the U.S. but keep in mind this is a $25K car. So that a big step up from $6500.
Mehran will be no where to seen if some competitors come. Its not a car worth 0.8 million. We do not pay same price... and now a days Japanese are as good as European or American.
I believe no one can kill Mehran in Pakistan and CC play important part to its success.
You are posting pictures of Ford, now days it is not recognized as very reliable brand, but they have innovative engine technology, which may produce very high torque out of 1000 CC engines.
However, I agree that other manufacturers should come, which are basically not coming due to mafiasim of car manufacturers in Pakistan.
Lol, nope. I know this guy who has a Tata Rexton, crappy built quality, it's panels were bloated, paint was peeling off, made a cloud of black smoke every time the gear would change, he got it for 90 lakh not 30, I would've bought a Surf instead.
TATA Rexton .?? AFAIK they don't have any product called Rexton or did u mean SSANGYONG REXTON ..?
That thing is has a 5.7 liter engine . In Pak people are dying to feed 1.3 and this guy is in really funny mood posting some heavy heavy stuff. My dad has a 2014 Chevy suburban it's a 5.7 beast but it's crazy on gas. This is exhibition car... most likely designed by some Italian designer, but this is not under production.
Any Pakistani business man can make contract with Mercedes for Engines and import assembly unit and there you go, 10 times better than what any bharti can ever dream.
P.S.: In history Pakistan had all UK, European and American auto brands... which could be seen on roads of Lahore as late as 80's. This was a time when human powered rickshaw ride was a dream of every bharti.
Do you know the size of the engine... it will be minimum 3.5 liter @MastanKhan ... come and put some sense to the fan boys, here as well.
Which ford or GM is for 10 lack . Ford, Cadillac, Lincoln, GMC, please let me know. Don't tellRegardless of the cc or capacity of engine , the focus should be on "QUALITY" vehicles when you spend money you get a vehicle that is
a) Safe
b) Produces no emissions
c) Reliable
d) Modern technology
If we go by CC value might as well stick to Tanga
If Pakistani has 10 Lakh rupees , and if he can get a FORD or GM for 10-14 Lakhs , what would you think he would spend his money on !!
Germany did not provide Submarine to Pakistan so VW should be allowed in Pakistan
How old is the Sumo??.... The first Sumo was out in the market in early 90's....if not maintained properly that old Mercedes will also be in the same condition.
What? How on Earth did someone from Karachi manage to buy himself a Tata Sumo? I'm pretty sure you meant that in 2008, he bought a Ssangyong Rexton, before Mahindra bought it over in 2011.
Aman ki Asha........ Its a Sumo it's Tareef was heard across the border. And it's Karachi a port city you can get these cars fresh off imports at auctions. Indian goods are very much present here. And I mistakenly wrote Rexton as I mixed both of them l btw there are a couple of Rextons in Karachi too.
No Chinese car companies?
I didn't know that. All I've heard of wrt Indian vehicles in Pakistan is that either they're consulate cars, or used imports from Dubai. No direct sales. Anyway, the Sumo, used to Tata's bread and butter product as it brought in much revenue through sales in the rural MUV taxi market before more up-to-date and safer products were launched by the vehicle giant in recent years.
