Pakistan's herd immunity approach?

No thanks. Not taking chances with my parents life. First every politician should be infected with corona and then we can talk about her immunity.

start with rockfellers>bill gates every politicians etc.

I support herd immunity approach, I believe in letting nature take its course and make its own natural selection among human populations.

It was 46 degrees Celsius in Bahawalpur today. Dry heat. Even the mosquitoes are dead. I doubt virus will survive here.

Herd immunity is a good approach but must be beefed with high level plasma treatment of the serious patients. Pakistan have few plasma treatment centres. It should be be increased alot, along with antibody testing to get volunteers for plasma.

It was also around 45 degrees celsius in Gujranwala according to my family. But the ambient temperature is not that critical for most viruses. It easily survives at 37 degrees celsius in the human body.

Pak is a “Hard Country”, so “Herd Immunity” comes natural as she is based on P2K - patronage to kinship....

Pakistan doesn't have an approach. The awam is stupid and leadership is absent in every segment of society. Everyone is focused on point scoring. Truth is human life is cheap in our country - hence the calls for herd immunity, the negligence of social distancing and on the other hand, the disregard of the economic impact of total lockdown.

We need a pragmatic approach.

1. Total lockdown of all people who are immuno compromised, has respiratory disorders and people who are in close contact with them (designated carers). State to fund loss of earnings for those people.

2. Anyone who can work from home, should work from home. Businesses should be checked to see if they're doing the maximum possible to facilitate that. Give them tax breaks as incentives and tartif free import of IT equipment to help facilitate this.

3. Everyone else back to work - but employers ensure social distancing and provide PPE for staff.

4. No school college etc till the new academic year. When it does open up, facilitate over longer hours and 7 days a week to allow for social distancing. Pay teachers more to cover the costs. Provide free PPE for all staff.

5. Cancel routine non essential hospital appointments and services to ensure health facilities can cope with covid case load in a safe manner.

6. Massive fines and strict enforcement of social distancing in public places. Ram a danda up the colonel ki biwi types.

7. Mandatory masks in public, even if they're homemade.

8. Prohibit all public gatherings of over 20 people. No sports events, concerts, rallies, juloos, etc.

9. Track and trace. Lock down anyone in contact with a case for 2 weeks.

10. Selective lockdown in problem areas. If somewhere has an outbreak, lock it down.

It's much more manageable this way.

Most people get sick from going in between cool indoor places and hot outdoors during the summer. The sudden fluctuation in body temperature results in a fever. Most people also get a cough by drinking extremely cold water or beverages during the summer.

WHO recommends Pakistan reimpose intermittent lockdowns
Filed on June 10, 2020 | Last updated on June 10, 2020 at 01.30 am

"WHO strongly recommends the government adapt the two weeks off and two weeks on strategy," said the letter signed by WHO's Head of Mission in Pakistan Dr Palitha Mahipala.

It was not immediately clear if the same advice was also sent to other provinces or the federal government.

The letter said the WHO recommends six conditions for lifting restrictions, including the disease transmission being "under control", being able to detect, test, isolate and treat every case and trace every contact, essential places having established preventive measures, and communities being educated, engaged and empowered to "live under a new normal".
