I think Haider Tank is just renamed VT4 tank.
Army got some ToT with VT4s
I agree that's basically what this is.

This is in service for the Command/control/comms task.an air-to-ground tactical data-link system that enables the Haider to build its situational awareness based on sensor data taken from a GMTI-SAR.
Low profile may eventually be the need of the day- the M-113 Dabba is about to run its course. This is in service for the Command/control/comms task.
reasonable.Haider is basically building VT4 inside Pakistan.
Its more a problem of compatible mobility with armor spearheads. Armor ought to have mechanized infantry for its close protection, close support and speedy clearance of defended areas while foot infantry due to its inherent lack of mobility is not available. Now, the armor spearheads, since they are spearheading every attack, tend to face the heaviest fire of all calibres. Tanks are impervious to anti pers weapons and small arms, however, infantry can be decimated. Thats why APCs are there to give our infantry the mobility as well as the minimum protection upto 12.7 mm calibres.. Maybe @PanzerKiel can shed some light why the tin can is still pretty useful despite its relatively thin protection
Are Pak M-113 used for recon in force? Its more a problem of compatible mobility with armor spearheads. Moreover, as per the US and Pak doctrine, APCs do not go more than 300-400 meters to the target. At this range, they stop, the infantry pours out and clears the objective like normal infantry. Once the objective area is cleared and mopped up, they again mount up and advance.
Is it smart enough to evade and defend itself from Drones and smart munitions? This is the need of the day.Pakistan's Haider Main Battle Tank is deemed to be a 'smart tank' with reference to the idea of pairing a tank’s inherent firepower and defensive qualities within a network-centric warfare environment. Imagine a scenario where the Pakistan Army acquires an air-to-ground tactical data-link system that enables the Haider to build its situational awareness based on sensor data taken from a GMTI-SAR.
The Haider can serve as the offensive asset, and the al-Khalid can sit as a defensive or holding corps workhorse. Certain aspects of the Haider, such as the up-rated engine, newer armour technology, guided attack capabilities, and active protection suite could also be brought to the al-Khalid over the long-term.

Low Profile isnt relevent anymore tbh. American replacement for M113 (the AMPV) is much bigger and wider than the M113, same case for replacement of european IFVs e.g Marder vs Lynx, extreme size differences. Size of new gen combat vehicles only goes up not down.Low profile may eventually be the need of the day- the M-113 Dabba is about to run its course.
Although it is always interesting (based on my ignorance) that even the US Forces in Europe had M-113s as part of both screening elements and recon in force even when facing T-72s. Maybe @PanzerKiel can shed some light why the tin can is still pretty useful despite its relatively thin protection
