Failure of Pakistan govt.

It's one country, it has one government. Foreign affairs and national security are still in the hands of the federal govt.

How is it a failure? China has invested tons of money in this province and continues to do so despite external pressure. Do you really think that China would invest a penny in a place where the government wouldn't guarantee security? The Chinese are a million times more careful about their investment than any other nation on the planet.

This is just BS. The Saudis are behaving like Saudis. They are walking back from their initial promise and this is exactly what we should expect from them. These are people who put their Palestinian brothers and sisters under the Zionist bus. You think the Saudis give a shit about Pakistanis?

Even China didn't wanted Saudia Arab to invest in Gawader. Fact or not ?

P.S. this news source has been posting anti CPEC topics every now and then. So the news mentioned as OP is dubious to me.

2 years back:
Saudi investment in Pakistan stokes tensions with China
Riyadh's billion dollar refinery projects in Gwadar seen irking Beijing

Saudi Arabia set to become third partner in CPEC

I posted several time that bajwa is incapable, Baluchistan is actually slipping from the hands of FC and CPEC is in danger but he is busy meeting with businessmen and visiting abroad. This is first major investment which shifted from gwadar now wait for few weeks when chines will show concerns too

We should ban this source asia nikkei. It is no secret that this source is against CPEC.

Despite Bajwa's weaknesses I don't think this has really anything to do with him meeting businessmen etc. This has more to do with Saudi backtracking. Like a member has hinted, I wouldn't be surprised if the Saudis changed their mind after US pressure.

If this news turns out to be true, it is definitely an eye opener.

The US needs to be shown a big middle finger. Not only should Pakistan not provide any military bases, but we should go after TTP and other terrorists inside Afghanistan after US departure. Enough is enough.

Source is pretty dubious (Japanese, hence anti-China) .
But if true, this is result of 10 terrorist attacks a week. Nobody will ever invest in Balochistan if this keeps on going, terrorism is unchecked, smuggling in unchecked, human trafficking is unchecked, who on earth will invest in such a place?
Doesn't matter if it's army of MoI, they've failed us. CPEC has been scuttled. Our enemies should rejoice.
To counter terrorism from Balochistan border fencing is important. A few years back there was a lot of speculation regarding military operation on a grand scale in Balochistan but it was not true. CPEC security force along with other law enforcement agencies have been tasked to stem out and deal with any situation.

Learn about Gwadar first become making such an illogical comment. If SA wishes to move out their refinery from Gwadar to Karachi, they have the right to do so because its their investment. At the end of the day whether Karachi or Gwadar the investment is inside Pakistan but let us not make it beyond what it really is.

He is an Indian. We should know that by now. This fool has blended in for a while now. The mods tolerate him. This sneaky fvck doesn't cross the redline. He knows when to provoke.

KARACHI -- Saudi Arabia has decided to shift a proposed $10 billion oil refinery to Karachi from Gwadar, the center stage of the Belt and Road Initiative in Pakistan, further supporting the impression that the port city is losing its importance as a mega-investment hub.

Why does this article reek of piss drinkers?

To the contrary, Saudia moving its investment away from Gwadar just serves as a reminder how quickly Gwadar is becoming a strategic lifeline for Pakistan. And Saudia US wouldn't want to give it any more nudge than it already has.

Gwadar is quickly developing into a trading/manufacting export centre. Our enemies wouldn't want to see this come to fruition but God be Willing, it will. These articles only serve to remind the nation how important Gwadar has become to Pakistan's success and to what extent they can go to sow the seeds of discontent.

maybe the decision comes out after continuous attacks on FC and Army in Baluchistan, I would not invest money where there is no security, and Organizations who are responsible for security comes under attack constantly, Extremely Poor Leadership skills shown by GHQ in last 2 years, give 1 more extension to Bajwa and he will mess up the entire country.
CPEC is safe. Army regs are deployed
They won't dare to attack the army. Only fc as they are the weakest link sadly.

I think it has to do with two factors. First the security situation in balochistan have not improved and secondly saudi would want it at a distance from iranian border.

Most here are blind supporters of military but i see the situation in balochistan as a failure of our military. If we dont succeed in securing balochistan, then we may lose billions. Its important to secure balochistan for a successful CPEC. The army have taken full control of CPEC and security since day one, with full authority, so there are no excuses, n yet they failed. Maybe the army needs to be removed from their luxuries in cantts of other cities and stationed in balochistan. Having observed our military leadership, id say we need serious reforms and over haul. I dont find the leadership of having courage to fight or having strong faith. Instead they r busy in luxuries of life, buying lands, villas, businesses. One can observe their level by looking at their families n the lifestyle they follow.

Border fencing won't do much if you cannot remove the cause behind the fence in the first place, terrorists are sitting in mansions a stone's throw away from Quetta. Turkey had the best solution for this, build a physical barrier then engage enemies on their side, not ours. We have "hard areas" on our own soil, which other nuclear nation has that? It's shameless and stupid

I'm talking more generally about the security situation in the province.

It is a wise decision as Gawadar should be properly developed first

First when Saudi build it than we will see.Second it will giva a chance to China ,Iran ,Russia or Qatar to build the refinery at gawadar it’s a win win situation

Been an issue is day one. KSA has always preferred locating these facilities in Karachi.
