Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Petroleum Nadeem Babar attended the 4th Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference as keynote speaker, according to a statement issued on Tuesday.

The SAPM also met a delegation of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and State Minister of Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) Yohei Matsumoto on the sidelines of the conference.

Earlier, he participated in the ministerial panel discussion on energy and policy titled, “The 4th Industrial Revolution is upon us and of its key challenges will be access to clean energy” along with Eng Suhail Mohamed Faraj Al Mazrouei, UAE’s Minister of Energy & Industry.

Babar outlined the steps taken by Pakistan for the promotion of ease of doing business, expansion of the energy market and the opening of avenues for foreign investors in the energy sector of Pakistan.

The SAPM also briefed the participants on oil and gas exploration and production activities in Pakistan.

During the meeting with SOCAR, both sides made deliberations on the exchange of knowledge on underground gas storages. The SOCAR delegation also extended an invitation to the Pakistani delegation to visit underground gas storage facilities in Azerbaijan. Babar accepted the invitation extended by SOCAR to visit Azerbaijan and hoped he would be able to visit soon.

In a separate meeting with Yohei Matsumoto, SAPM stated that the incumbent government was committed to improving the business climate in the country. He also shared with the delegation the government’s plan to offer onshore and offshore blocks through auction. Both sides discussed the Japanese offer of a training programme on technology and advancements in the energy sector.

Nadeem Babar noted with gratification the momentum in relations between both the countries, particularly in the energy sector.

2. a fix base load

hydel and soalr can compliment each other we can get maximum power rom solar during the day and during nights and we can use hydel..this will be very cheap..
as both hydel and solar are less than 5 cents these days
