Pakistan's Blunder Of Not Joining The Yemen War:---

If you think that won't happen then you are being oblivious to reality. Kin, religion tends to trump nationalism in Pakistan's case. It was the religion that brought this nation together and not Pakistaniat which is still an ongoing evolution.

You also don't realize the magnitude of the demographics. Pakistan has 30 million plus Shias. That is almost half the population of Iran and the entire population of KSA so this is not a small number to be discounted. We have a massive challenge on hand to keep things together.

Also this exercise is not about "reflecting" good, rather an assessment of the realities. Pakistan sends its forces to Yemen to put down a Shia movement has a pretty negative connotation. Its offensive and intrusive. This is not a case of Pakistan defending KSA. Pakistani troops being involved in the deaths of Shias is another explosive issue. This would be a long term involvement. It will bring about friction within the military and in the society. Been there, seen that with East Pakistan. So let's not be blind to what Pakistan and Pakistanis are.

These are just our fears. In nutshell you are suggesting that Pakistani Shiite would start considering Pakistan an infidel state? Same like the TTP did?

You are suggesting that all 30 million will revolt in case Pakistan covertly / overtly became part of bringing peace to Yemen? By the way its not against the Shiite movement (who knows if it really is Shiite) in Yemen, its about restoring peace and making lives of many other Yemeni common people easier. Pakistan shouldn't give in that easily to this iranian blackmail tactic. If Pakistani sunnis can live with iranian involvement in every other sunni country so is expected of Pakistani Shiite to stand with their state if it decides to play an active role.

Sunni soldiers from fought sunni terrorists in FATA ...... the remaining 190 million didn't revolt or started a rebellion against the state so why would 30 million act differently? Its not an attack on their faith, Yemen till yesterday wasn't a country with any Ziarat or holy place for Shiite ......... unless if persians haven't already created a fairy tale and changed that fact (as they have been doing for centuries), so why would these 30 million people find this participation an act of war against their faith?.

P.S: I pretty much understand the demographics of it, their is only one province that has been saved from clean up operation, and that is the only place where illiterate gullible extremists of all sorts exist and are produced on daily basis. So 30 million itself isn't a homogeneous group that exists in one place, its spread all over Pakistan, a person from Gilgit Baltistan doesn't share views with a person from interior Punjab.

Hi,

1. Why not---the british east india company did---the french did---the spaniards did---the catholic chruch did---the dutch did it.

2. Tariq Bin Ziyyad did---Yousuf Bin Tashfeen did---Mohammad Bin Qasim did---Khalid Bin Waleed did---.

Men are known by their enemies they have---.

What happened to your islamic warrior blood-
--.

1. Exactly...the world has evolved since 700 AD..... now to conquer, you need to have influence (of money, trade, industry, tech and science, media, culture) ... gone are the days of some illiterate nomad can sit on a horse with sword in hand and start creating loot and plunder in the name of Khalifaite.

2. Grow up man... why this sick mentality. Haven't you seen fate of your likes (read ISIS)..so called "Islamic Warrior Blood"?

Men are known by their enemies they have....
They (ISIS, Al Queda) were known by their enemies ... were evaporated.

Think of making world a place where we and our children can live in peace...guys like you are the ones who have made it a hell. sick!

His post has literally nothing to do with ISIS.

If we have 30 million shia, that's about 15% of the population.

Iran has a 10% sunni population. It didn't stop them from going on the war path against sunni countries. The iranian regime literally went on a genocide against sunnis in Syria without a care in the world about their minorities reaction and funded several sectarian militias in Iraq too.

Bro Pakistanis need to move past this mind set of being held down by their minorities. We're not like the iranian regime and we're not going to genocide shias somewhere else in the world but we have our own interests and that may mean fighting/providing support against shia groups. I don't believe that most Pakistani shia are disloyal anyway. Iran doesn't even let it's sunnis have a mosque in Tehran but I'm sure shias in pakistan have mosques in every major city in Pakistan, we treat our minorities far better (even if sometimes it's not perfect...).

Are we going to wait for the war to come to home? Because one day it might, those 1000s of pakistani shia fighters in syria, if they return one day then we may have to fight another war within our country. Already we've had iranian trained target killers attacking our shaykhs. We've been neutral and it's got us nowhere.

Hi,,

We don't want to go there to conquer---. Pakistanis don't have conquering genes in them---. They are inherently subservient---. They don't even know how to rule their own country let alone other nations---.

This would be more like the US military in germany or in so korea---.

The world had indeed evolved---but then the US brought back the old ideology---.

I wonder if PM Khan and his PTI Government has now realised it as a major blunder for being so vocally against the Yemen War (in Arab Gulf's hour of need) or they still think they're special?
