What most of the people do not realize is the fact that Khilafat Movement was started on sectarian basis basically , later on supported by different politicians (and some Mullahs) for political purposes . Maulana Abdul Bari founded "Bazm e Sufiya e Hind" in 1913 which was active against the Wahabis , who were demolishing holy shrines in Hijaz (Mecca/Medina) , and supported the Sunni Ottoman caliphate against Wahabis . Maulana Muhammad Ali Jauhar and Maulana Shaukat Ali , the leading figures of Khilafat movement , "came" from his Madrassah e Nizami . Sir Agha Khan and Sir Ibrahim Harun Jafar joined the Movement later for political gains .

The views of Iqbal on Khilafat movement (which they dont tell us in Pak studies) were very negative . Allama Muhammad Iqbal came to know that his nephew(Sheikh Ijaz) was willing to join Khilafat Movement , He wrote to his brother , Sheikh Ata Muhammad (father of Ijaz), on Dec 14 1921 :

"........ Members of Khilafat committee are not trustworthy always , they might appear to be passionate Muslims , but in reality are "brothers of Satan(devil)" . That is why I resigned from the post of secretary Punjab of khilafat movement . The reasons behind my resignation should not be made public , if I did that , people would be really shocked ."

Absolutely bro it was 100% secterian. They have always pulled the classic "wool over the eyes" join this Muslim movement trick , which they seek to control and then dominate the Muslims of the sub-continent.

Bazm e Sufiya are still loved by the scholars of Turkey today ha! Mashallah.

Truth hurts a lot sometimes !! Darul Uloom Deoband opposed Pakistan Movement ... They formed a Muslim Parliamentary Board (In a conference attended by 150 delegates from different "Muslim" parties who all agreed) to oppose Muslim League in its demand for Pakistan tooth and nail .. Congress funded them ... Majlis e Ahrar , Jamat e Islami and all other Deoband organizations also opposed Jinnah`s Pakistan Movement with all their energies ..... These are well documented "facts" ...

And today shameless,characterless Mullahs claim to be the "thekedars" of ideology of Pakistan !! Truth is : Mullahs were , and Mullahs are enemies of Pakistan and Islam ..

Out of hundreds (if not thousands) of prominent Deoband Mullahs , Only Mullah Shabbir Usmani supported Jinnah ... So the Hypocrite Mullahs try to claim that Mullahs supported Pakistan Movement .... But when they are told that Usmani was thrown out of Dar ul Uloom Deoband and he had personal reasons to oppose Maulana Madani (rector of Darul Uloom) , .... And this is an undeniable fact that The universal opposition of virtually every significant religious group in Undivided India, indeed the entire Muslim religious establishment to Jinnah`s Pakistan movement and the Muslim League cannot be reconciled with any idea of religious origins of Pakistan (something hypocrite Mullahs are trying to claim now)... Mullahs are left answer-less and they start crying , calling names and try to bring in Jinnah and others just like what @Zarvan is doing now !!!

Whats with the alternate versions of history ? They didn't ask the Muslims to accept British as their " Masters " .
