Punjab Chief Minister Pervez Elahi speaks in a video message on Sunday — Twitter

Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi on Sunday brushed aside concerns of any resistance from him regarding PTI’s planned dissolution of Punjab assembly, acknowledging that he owed his government to PTI chief Imran Khan and would oblige to his instructions immediately.

Elahi is in power in Punjab due to the support of PTI, whose chairman a day earlier announced plans to “quit the corrupt system and leave all the assembles”.

Some analysts had doubted that Imran would be able to follow through with his plan, saying that Elahi would resist any such move.

However, in a video message today, the PML-Q leader said the incumbent Punjab government was established on the PTI chairman’s mandate, adding that “Imran has posed his trust in us.”

“When Imran tells me to dissolve the assemblies, I won’t even wait half a minute,” Elahi said, adding that “PM Shehbaz Sharif’s 27km-long [federal] government won’t even last for 27 hours” following the move.

The Punjab chief minister said that “the sea of applause from the people is a proof of Imran Khan’s popularity.”

He said the PTI chief’s political strategy had entered a decisive round in the Rawalpindi rally and that chaos will ensue among the PDM coalition’s ranks when resignations are tendered from the KP and Punjab assemblies.

He lambasted PML-N for “spewing lies”, saying that future generations of Nawaz Sharif’s party will remember what happened to them.

“In this country, religion will rule and the common man, including poor people and their children, will benefit from the government’s work,” he said.

Later, former human rights minister Shireen Mazari appreciated Elahi’s stance.
The brothers from Gujrat might be playing a double game. IK better be careful.
Not liking what I am hearing.
@akramishaqkhan you were referring to Elahi right? He seems loyal..

75 years on India is launching satellites into space, South Korea is one of the largest chip manufacturers, and here we are still trying to find a leader. This nation will be doing the same in next 40 years.
Harsh truth, and eventually it will collapse because the current system of ruling elites keeping the nation stagnant while everyone advances forward is unsustainable

And so are all those who came to get their "haqiqi azaadi". How predictably so! :D
People are still on the streets, IK has call for dissolving assemblies, after that election must be called. But thing is you are still home (predictably so as well).

If words alone mattered we all would be millionaires. Lets see how this ends.
Also I think the brothers are playing both sides of the wicket. So Elahi's statement would make sense.
If this was Game of Thrones the Elahi brothers would be our version of House Greyjoy!!!

Having said that I would be the happiest person if time and action proves me wrong.

Can someone drop the FlightRadar info on the US Electronic Sweep plane that flew over Pindi and ISB during the rally. Cannot find it now.

As I said in another thread though, I am 95% sure this was a PAF aircraft.

I was shocked to eyeball that post. Did not read after it, so not caught up. I also quickly saw E-75 next to the plane so figured it might have been an E8C or something like that (now I realize that was road name). Anyways hope you are right because if this was a non-PA/PAF asset in the air that long over a capital - it would be a new low that would shock me to my core.

Haha shukar hai abhi tak yeh halat nhn aye :P

Ouch not looking good. Flight characteristics confirm prop plane. As per tail info on this FlightRadar image looks to be a Beecher.
Showing up as a WPAFB asset still under US gov ownership. Could be a diplomatic asset under US Embassy usage. I hope I am absolutely wrong. But strong likelihood this was a an SR effort and sweep (these specific planes are kitted out a certain way). I hope I hope I am wrong. Someone please correct me.

@Jango went down my rabbit whole. Then read your post. Can u point me to the PAF reg on this reg number. It is still showing up as a USAF materel asset. And you know these types are well kitted for elec/sig-int, and used extensively in South America to interdict and surveil.

@Catalystic - let me get some counter G2 from @Jango - I trust his judgement that this might be a PAF. If so then this is nothing.
However current data sheets show it still as a USAF asset. If so and looking at flight characteristics this plane was likely doing a sweep. I'll leave it at that till I get a go or no go. If I get a go - then I'll explain exactly what planes like these are doing in areas like this, and how serious and dangerous this is. Which is why both @Jango and I are a bit shocked this could be even possible. To be honest I think I am wrong - and that this is a PAF plane. I hope so, otherwise we have hit a new low.
