Pakistanis in America

The U.S. Census Bureau has indicated that there are about 210,000 U.S. citizens of Pakistani descent living in the United States, including permanent residents. The Census Bureau, however, excluded the population living in institutions, college dormitories, and other group quarters from all population groups. The Pakistani embassy estimates the number of people of Pakistani origin living in United States to be much higher, closer to 500,000.

About 2.5 million. Not that its an achievement.

For the trivia inclined, Asian Indians (to not confuse with the native Americans who are also called american indians) are the 3rd largest Asian American ethnic group in the US following Chinese (3.6 million) and Filipino(3.1 million)

Problem is that Indian originals from all parts of the world are called Indians. So if an Indian lived in Uganda for some 70 years and then moved over to America, he is called an Indian even though he was Ugandan. In the USA all people who look like Indians (east) are regarded as being from India until you open your mouth and speak like a Brit or a Bot or a South African. Then they squirm their eyes and usually say "hey I tawt that you are from India, but which place are you from man?"
