Reports from northwestern Pakistan say clashes between two Islamic militant groups over control of a valley near the Afghan border have killed at least 24 people.
Pakistani officials say a gun battle erupted on January 26 when fighters of the militant group Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan captured a base of its rival group, Ansarul Islam, in the Khyber tribal region.

Ansarul Islam fighters then tried to retake the base located in the Tirah Valley, with fighting continuing into January 26.

Most of the dead were said to be militants but some local tribesmen were also reported killed.

The remote Tirah valley shares a border with Afghanistan and leads to the plains of Bara, which connect the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to the outskirts of Peshawar.

Based on reporting by AP and Dawn.com

Ansar Ul Islam became pro-Pakistan govt for quite some time and was helping Pak Govt in vaccination in Tribal areas and also in many other issues.

Now if TTP destroys it(which it will easily) Pakistan will be in deep Sh!t.

I am sure Ansar Ul Islam will hv reinforcements whenever they need one read PA- so its not easy-
Likewise Pak Army is still not able to get rid of TTP completely-
So saying (which it will easily) is a really immature comment-

I think Pakistan Army should take gloves off and support Ansarul Islam.

Dont these guys have anything better to do other than killing each other? Many be they should wake up and think about going to work, dropping kids to school and picking up the daily grocery list!

It's good theory, but actual problem on the ground is very different. (From Ansar-ul-Islam PoV) On the one side, they have been pushed into drone attacks, on the other hand, a foreign supported with dollars are recruiting people from your area. and Trying to take over the area which was always been controlled by you. Schools are being blown up on daily basis, and teachers are scared to come to teach. Law enforcers has no control of the area. It's battle for survival. So difficult to even consider that option.

In real life, this is what happens, they wake up, gang up with other terrorists and attack children going to schools.

Do they have those activities as part of their lives? Working at a steady job? kids going regularly to school? daily groceries list-whats dat?????

Is it pre cursor of type of civil war in Tribal region ?

How fast can situation deteriorate further ?

If collateral damage occurs and in large number, International pressure may come.

I am sorry to burst your bubble - but its not on their Islamic Jihad Agenda.

They love to be killed, or kill some baskers of their own choice.
Thats what their belief is....

Much of these problem emate from Jinnah and PK GOV inability to abolish feudalism and tribalism - now the Sh!t has hit the fan.
As last resort scenario it may be required to issue an ultimatum for all civilians to evacuate the area and then raze very suspected hideout to the ground with tons of bombs!

Pakistan and its Government as a country have failed to secure their borders and territory against foreign meddling!

Going to work?? If they had jobs, why would they want to be hired guns? The hired gun job actually is a job, they get paid - dropping kids to school?? Either way, they are screwed - but anyway, there is, Islam and they are making a living out of it.

I think the fighting is between Lashkar-e-Islam and Ansar-ul-Islam, both the groups have a long history of clashes.
