the figure 144 was given in 3916. and the figure 4675 was given after one month of this figure.

Even as the two years after the agreement remained calm, three ceasefire violations were reported in 2006, 21 in 2007, 77 in 2008, 28 in 2009, 44 in 2010, 62 in 2011, 114 in 2012, and 347 in 2013.

144 was a face saving. 4675 is the correct figure and was given in written.

India iyself stated that there were 1042 Pakistani soldiers killed from our filed Action reports and bodies collected (the Pakistani Military/Government initially refused the collect the bodies of their war dead saying that they were terrorists till very much later) during the course of the conflict.

International sources confirmed the number of India's war dead and injured but were only able to apporximate Pakistan's dead and injured due to the murky nature of the entire event on their side, the political manuverings, secrets, etc BUT said that atleast 700 Pakistani soldiers were killed and over a 1000 injured.
