Currently, we have no need for SSBN and ICBM. We should invest the money in a launch vehicle instead.

Pakistan has no other choice but to do it. Nuclear submarine and 5th gen. fighter are something that are difficult, improbable but not impossible. Needs to apply itself and the naysayers will be history.

That's called self belief and confidence...The the cynics and enemies of Pakistan used to laugh when ZAB stated that we will eat grass but we will make the atom bomb and today Pakistani is the proud nuclear power because that guy had self-belief, trust in Allah and in the talent of the scientists and engineers of the country. Attaining nuclear power is more difficult than making submarines and since Pakistan got Agotsa 90Bs under ToT and the last of three was completely indigenously, means Pakistan has the skilled force and the basic infrastructure..All it needs is to groom it further and combine its technical know how and develop one as India did rather Pakistan can do a better job.

Why do we need 8000 factories to develop a nuclear sub?

The Chinese one have about 120,000 parts, made by 8000 different factories. of the 8000 factories, 10% are dedicated only for nuclear industry.

An R&D organisation has been working on the development of a miniaturised nuclear power plant in collaboration with PAEC that can fit a submarine size and work in a submersible structure / vehicle. What I heard was they had been successful in developing but due to unavailability of the funds and change of priorities an indigenuous nuclear sub program was not launched and rather Pakistan went with 8 (6 + 2) S-20 Chinese submarines.

The people who make decisions in Pakistan mostly undermine indigenous development unless and until it becomes inevitable since 1) they get hefty kickbacks which ensures a good life post retirement and 2) they do not trust the nation's talent and 3) they lack the ability to think in the longer terms and ad hoc-ism is the rule. Pakistan's nuclear program, JF17 thunder and all other indigenous programs were started when embargoes and sanctions or political difficulties made them inevitable.

AFAIK, the decision was made not to pursue "Attack Submarines", and instead go for AIP equipped Chinese vessels.

Bro we had limited budget so it was not cancelled but the budget was diverted to other projects. However, I think now they will make budget allocation for this in future as future outlook looks very promising for Pakistan on economic front after CPEC and that's why your enemies are have a constant pain in their a$$es over CPEC.

The Boomer bit is unsurprising. However, I am intrigued as to see her mention carriers. There has been a major dispute between the Army on one hand and the Navy/AirForce on the other. The question has been can shore based assets armed with long range Stand off weapons reliably defeat a 2020's Indian Naval taskforce? According to what the later two services believe, it can't.

Hello all.
No doubt about heaving Nuclear Sub, This achievement(addition) will bring Our Defence and Offence on Next level or Great level.
But here I will put some other thoughts , Do we really need N-Sub ? Answer is yes ! but its all about time, and for me the time is not right now ,first we need good and descent fleet of normal Subs, According to Navy 16 of them. 11 normal D-E AIP eqm subs , 4 to 5 D-E AIP eqm with VLS launchers subs(conventional BM-Subs) . And then after these we need N-Sub.
First 11 will be our hunters mainly , Second category above will help us , teach us , train us , help us to have or to build strategy about N-Subs(with VLS and with SLBMs) and also play a vital rule in our defence (Hunters + Killers).We just cant have 4 to 5 N-Subs.
After achieving above we surly can have our own N-Sub , which will take 10 years to build and next 10 years to fully operational and get fully mature strategy and planning.
And one more thing , before we go for N-Sub our Navy needs There Own Military Satellite!!!!!!!!!!!! Navy's Own !!
Edit: Until proper , appropriate time arrives , until we have full Technologies , Full Supporting and manufacturing Industries , Factories , Complete Electronic Package and other 100s of different things. Its better if we stay quite and if we keep this all thing Low.

We already working on Nuclear sub project since 2012 and i think it will take another 8 to 10 years to have our own sub
