Strings release sixth track from latest album, 30
It has to be said that no matter how many commercial projects come their way, Strings are sticking to their guns and releasing eight songs from their sixth studio album, 30, which also happens to be their first independent digital release.
At a time when major mainstream artists don’t release new records, Strings have released six songs with music videos attached.
Having released ‘Sajni’, ‘Urr Jaoon’, ‘Piya Re’, ‘Milgaya’ and ‘Hum Dono’, the band is back with its sixth track titled ‘Chal Para’, which has been penned by Anwar Maqsood with the video directed by Mohsin Kamal.
Given their past five releases, sonically ‘Chal Para’ is a strictly Strings song but it is elevated by Faisal Kapadia’s vocals. Furthermore, the music video is not focused on the band’s original co-founders Bilal Maqsood and Faisal Kapadia but rather shows the camaraderie between Bilal, Faisal and the rest of the Strings line-up that includes Aahad Nayani, Adeel Ali, Haider Ali and Bradley D’Souza.
It also showcases the lighter side of Strings, but that doesn’t translate into the audio, which is very eighties and not as addictive as its preceding singles.
Strings seem to be on a roll this year, having announced and released singles from their all-new album as well as taking over as co-judges on Pepsi Battle of the Bands and getting a video out of Cornetto Pop Rock, butchered as it may be.
They are scheduled to defend pop against Ali Azmat, the champion of rock next month as part of Red Bull Sound Clash. With their collective number of records and hits, it won’t be as easy for Ali Azmat as assumed. In the meantime, check out the video of ‘Chal Para’ for it highlights the candid moments a band as iconic as Strings shares as a cosmic whole, beyond the glimmering lights of a public stage.
