The best season of coke studio so far in my opinion. He made some excellent fusions in this season. The violinist in the Balochi song for example is playing a Norwegian tune but it fits in so smoothly with the Balochi singing.

The behind the scene videos in this season are a great watch.

technically that season was great but it was a flop season because not many enjoy such music.

Unfortunately true. Then we got several seasons of mainstream "strings" coke studio which in my opinion were standard at best. Seriously lacking the creativity which imo made coke studio great.

He ruined a song I actually like a lot. “Yaar Dadi Ishq Atish Lai Hai”. I am so mad because of that.

They need to stop giving chances based on looks. Momina and Ahad deserved no chance one CS. But Momina was given two songs. CS standard dropped only because of “parchi” singers.

Rohail hayat is a living legend... Be it vital signs or coke studio... That guy has made music that was relevant years ago and even now.
Coke studio is not the same without him being around . Last 4 to 5 seasons of coke studio were different with gud songs here and there too but they do not come near to the master pieces what he produced and which made coke studio pakistan a resounding success amongst people who understand urdu

Coke studio is not the same without him being around . Last 4 to 5 seasons of coke studio were different with gud songs here and there too but they do not come near to the master pieces what he produced and which made coke studio pakistan a resounding success amongst people who understand urdu

He definitely is one living legend. I am looking forward to next season of CS. I hope it doesn’t disappoint the audience.

Which season? The last one???

Rohails last season which was season 6 i believe. The BTS videos showed how musicians from different parts of the world were working together for a Pakistani music show. After that season you really started seeing South Americans, Europeans and Arabs suddenly posting comments on CS videos. He really put Pakistani music on the spotlight with these international colabs.

Unfortunately it was not a big hit with the domestic audience, so since then CS has tried to play it safe which has killed the creativity. Nescafe basement meanwhile has really upped their game which i believe haa forced CS to turn back to Rohail.
