Pakistani man plans to build BIG FOREST in Karachi

Karachi saying goodbye to MQM, and hello to PTI. Although this isn’t an official govnement initiative, this man was truly inspired by the Billion Tree Tsunami. He is trying to build a forest in the middle of Karachi (near Defence Area). Watch the short video for more information.

Here whenever I try to grow a food/vegetable/fruit forest in my backyard, the squirrels eats all the plants up. Sometime it's annoying but it is nature.

I estimate 200-500 million. So household should plan two tree every month, perhaps even more if it’s a large house.

This will make sure the temperatures drop nicely.

All this is good....but we need to have expert teams of environmentalists who study the environment, goals, and then plan the plantations.

Don't haphazardly plant trees who might be needing a lot of water when there's no water around or things like that.

Pakistan has a lot of water. Just the only thing is the country does not know how to use it all and therefore wastes it all. The amount of water that flows through Indus is quite a lot, but Pakistanis waste about 80-85% of it through bad agricultural techniques, evaporation, etc.

Karachi size is about 1500 square miles. This is about 41 billion square feet. This means having about 5 Trees per 100 sq yards. So good estimate. I’ve updated it.

Pakistan has a lot of water. Just the only thing is the country does not know how to use it all and therefore wastes it all. The amount of water that flows through Indus is quite a lot, but Pakistanis waste about 80-85% of it through bad agricultural techniques, evaporation, etc.

We need to atleast build two huge dams like Tarbela, and tens of small to medium dams on major rivers. And then invest heavily in water conservation agricultural practices across Pakistan---such as drip irrigation etc. It will increase the yield and save water as well.
