It basically Pakistani copy of Chinese HJ-8 ATGM . We are planning to replace it with new Chinese ATGM ,HJ-10. Pakistan also need to supplement it with HJ-10 which is portable like Jevelen missile.

.
Baktar Shikan is now too heavy for Special Operation Forces

Are you planning on using your ATGMs to attack our ATGMs or our tanks?
They are not planning. They have actually attacked your posts with Baktar Shikan. Several videos are available.
They are phasing this old guy out by hitting your posts on LOC.

The system is of a bygone age! Let's move onto a better system that delivers up to date capabilities. The biggest hurdle is the weight when man portable systems are available that have better range and mode of attack. In any conflict that Pakistan faces man portable systems will be the decisive factor.

india is working hard to obtain Spike from israel. They spent years trying to get the javelin from the yanks prior to that. So if Pakistan is india centric they are not sitting still in trying to bring this system onto the battlefield.

Muffakar you forgot the Turkish system!
What I have come to know is Turkey as of now is now making nothing similar to Javelin

in fact we have OMTAS which has fire and forget & top attack capability

. . . . . .
Guys I am mainly talking about a launcher which can be carried by a single guy
in fact bro a javelin team consist of two man i.e gunner and the ammunition bearer as well but I see your point yes javelin seems kind of more compact in a way may be!

Yes, it does lack the capabilities of a modern ATGM but it's still highly effective against all types of armour fielded by our adversary. It has been mass produced and absorbed into our combat doctrine. I don't oppose procurement of a new ATGM but phasing out Baktar Shikan. We still rely on RR guns for direct fire in antipersonnel role despite it being 50's tech. Even if India obtain Spike, it's not going to retire its arsenal of Russian or French ATGMs. Also I would recommend you watch YouTube videos of the combat effectiveness of HJ8 missiles in Syria.
