What’s the pay grade of this journalist in RAW’s payroll??? I hope it’s high for he’s basically suggesting the Pak folks to have a metamorphosis to a Termitic stage....

By the by, BD’s prospects are so bleak that even the kids of the affluent families have thronged into the streets braving the Gujrat-style pogrom by the government death squads...

Poor BD. Environment is not on BD side, overpopulation, lack of sanitation, encroaching water levels from global warming, India/Burma pushing refugees into BD, India control of BD trade and ports, dictatorship and heavy-handed government, political polarisation, and extreme inequality of the rich and poor.

It is sad how Hasina is destroying BD and BD people are losing their faith and culture to Hindu/Atheists.

I've noticed increased immigration from BD into the US and other Western countries fleeing the overpopulation and lack of opportunities in BD.

All this while Pakistan is seeing repatriation. Pakistan's economic and geopolitical rise is just the beginning. Pakistan is blessed by geography, culture, faith, and links to the Muslim world which unfortunately BD does not have.

Like India, BD is isolated due to geography and culture.

There is simply not really a comparision between Pakistan and Bangladesh. Pakistan is one of the most diversed nation in the planet, Bangladesh is not...Pakistan has been constantly fighting wars since 1965, Bangladesh is not...Pakistan has hosted millions of refugees from around the world and was/is largest host of refugee for 3.5 decades, Bangladesh did not...and so on and forth.

What I don't get is that why Pakistan's Sind or KPK or Punjab don't set Bangladesh as their target for growth (I understand Balochistan, GB, AJK & ICT doesn't have high population). Pakistan's provinces should compete with countries like Bangladesh, Vietnam, etc. Bangladesh is no doubt doing an awesome job in growing tremendously and Pakistani provinces can follow and compete with it.

The only thing Pakistan can learn from Bangladesh is how not to drown in the sea. That is about it. Pakistan is is far, far better off then Banga. The issues in Pakistan are poor tax collection. As other posters have shown here the real GDP figure is probably double Banga's. You might disagree but millions of your countrymen have set up slums in Karachi including spitting that red sh*t on pavements to feel home all the while pretending they all arrived there pre 1971. What does that tell you about the reality?
Pakistan is far above Bangladesh certainly in military might. As for tax collection, BD is also facing the same problem as Pakistan. About the hidden economy, BD had 62.5% in 2013. I do not have the current estimate. Pakistan has 50%, this is what @Imran Khan said.

Pakistan had indulged in borrowing easy and cheap money from outside sources. Even it owes China a staggering $13 billion. Now, it has a foreign currency reserve of only $10 billion (BD $33 billion) and its export volume is about $22 billion (BD $35 billion).

Pakistan has too large a military establishment that cannot be supported for long with the current weak economy. The military should be downsized and its budget slashed. Military eats away all the money that should better be used for industrialization and building the infrastructure and economy.

I am not sure how true is your assertion that BD people have set up slums in Karachi, but it is true that our people are hard working although we have shorter stature. I was in Karachi many years ago and I found people from the east had been living in Karachi since the 1960s when our jute money was used to build the Karachi mills and factories. Go to Sher Shah Colony and Nazimabad, you will find most are there since long before 1971.

Hidden economy "estimates" are largely bogus. You can make them as small or large as you want. No real way to tell till you do reforms and rule of law to surface them onto the books, rolls and registers....applying econometrics before that is like schrodingers cat issue.

This is true.

Not possible due to daily terrorism threats from India from both the East and West.

The only thing Pakistan needs to do is to hang the mafia scum like Nawaz Sharif, Zardari and their cronies and confiscate all of their wealth.

Everything else will fall into order.

Justice and law is the only issue Pakistan needs to solve.

BD needs to ban the sex trade and respect females. BD is a Muslim country and not Hindu nation, it should promote Islamic values.

India has made gays legal and adultery legal, now will BD follow suit?
I agree with your view. But there is always a tug of war between the religion and materialism. It depends how materialistic the society is. I guess it won't be easy for the Bd govt to legalise prostitution and gay-marriages because overwhelming majority is Muslim and it will create strong polarity but you never know, morality and values may get sold for a few dollars and an extra plate of curry at the table...at least by the so called elite.

Whatever India says, goes. This is Hasina bint Modi.

People who are not Pakistani think the opposite of what you stated. It is Pakistan that regularly sends terrorists to India and Afghanistan. The same terrorists again bomb many mosques in Karachi and other cities.

When bombed, the Pakistanis start raising the anti-India alarm and the military gets a bigger budget that causes to neglect development of the country. It is continuing in a vicious cycle since 1948 when Pakistan invaded Kashmir and occupied 35% of it. Pakistan will have to get out of its macho psyche to move forward economically.

Don’t conflate your biases with the rest of the world.

Pakistan’s powerful anti-terrorism victory has earned admirers from Russia, China, Japan, KSA, Iran, EU, UK, US, Sri Lanka, Turkey, and many countries.

Pakistan is now an expert at defending its borders from internal proxy threats and external overt threats.

75,000+ Pakistanis died from Indian proxy bombings but Pakistan still stands tall today.
