"Its sad how things are being reported in the media. Is there no one to question the police ? how about an independent inquiry not by the same police that killed the bolan people.

My question is , what was the target of the suspected bombers??? Why will they blow themselves up when being cornered by only two policemen without giving up a fight given that ak-47's were found on the site. If end result was suicide then it could've been achieved either way. There were witnesses who heard gunshots, if so then which gun was used ? ak47's had shook the whole seaview. Why was the intensity of blast so low that even the guards posted outside village did not hear anything? Why were their families picked up and barred to speak to the media?

My conclusion is that it was police brutality. They were no terrorists, they just did not stop at the checking upon being stopped. Two policemen fired upon them which hit the cng kit and thus the explosion. Later on the incident was covered to protect the incompetence and negligence of the police department.

Moreover, yesterday the rangers killed the man by throwing grenade in his house while trying to go all commando on a innocent civilian. Read the family reports and the hospital reports. The rangers again barred the media from looking at the body. His children were helpless and crying in the apartment . Later the dg rangers changed his statement to "a grenade exploded in his hands" . The question is who did it belong to?"

Pakistan Army details Mohmand ops

Brian Cloughley - Mohmand Agency, Pakistan

Pakistan Army officers commanding operations in Mohmand Agency have told us that, while the military's focus remains on countering the threat from militants on both sides of the Afghan-Pakistani border, growing emphasis is being placed on building and restoring civilian infrastructure.

Speaking in late October, Brigadier Aftab Ahmed, commander of 77 Infantry Brigade in Mohmand Agency, provided details of Operation 'Brekhna': a three-phase operation from January to September 2011 that sought to clear the agency of more than 1,000 militants.

Brig Aftab said Mohmand, which abuts Afghanistan's Kunar Province, has been economically and socially strangled by the insurgents - predominantly Tehrik-i-Taliban - who have stifled commerce, destroyed more than 60 schools and shattered the authority of the Political Agent: the federal government's representative. One senior army officer noted that, while the media blamed the army for interfering in civilian government, "they want us to go in and sort things out and then take over running the place" in Swat, where the army and paramilitary Frontier Scouts suffered heavy casualties in their defeat of the militants.

According to Brig Aftab, 77 Brigade had considerable air support, integral artillery and tanks for Operation 'Brekhna', although their deployment in altitudes above 5,000 ft had been extremely difficult. In the course of phase two of the operation in the Bohai Dag Sector along the border, 1,671 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were disarmed in a 30 km strip of territory. Nine bomb factories were destroyed as were elaborate tunnel systems, one of which housed a 40-bed hospital with saline drips and other medical equipment. The brigade and the scouts suffered 74 killed and 250 wounded, of whom 47 were victims of IEDs.

While this corrospondent was in Mohmand, two soldiers of 77 Brigade were killed by an attack mounted from Afghanistan's Kunar Province. Brig Aftab said that no International Security Assistance Force or Afghan troops operated between the border and the Kunar River: a region in which there are militant bases.

That prompted another senior officer to say that it was a pity the Americans did not "use some of their bloody drones to strike the bases in Kunar and Nuristan rather than letting them [the militants] come over the border to attack Chitral": a reference to an incursion from Afghanistan in August in which 16 Frontier Scouts were killed.

The US Air Force flies General Atomics MQ-1L Predator and MQ-9 Reaper armed unmanned aerial vehicles to target insurgents in Afghanistan. The CIA is also widely believed to use Predators to target Al-Qaeda and other militants inside Pakistan.
