There's no denying your post.

My problem is our culture somehow tolerates this sick behavior that it turns a blind eye or makes it a Taboo to talk about it.

This is what frustrates many. The solution to this problem is among the easiest but the first step is the hardest. To accept that there is a problem.

Segregation is culturally defined not religiously in Pakistan. To make this about religion will be a very unfair thing to do.

I think same .
Religion is not a problem , its our mentality and not being completely obedient to religion is .
Islam is very beautiful , the restrictions it put on men nd women are only for their benefit and fair so that an islamic soceity is respectable to each other . But as usual we have some black sheeps that do this .

.
although its an universal issue, its more acute in some society compared to other... a large part of the reason is cultural... what is considered acceptable.
i used to think if more women are working and economically independent, this will go down, but street harassment continues even in developed world.

I am sorry but religion is what makes women a Taboo in Pakistan, i.e it makes them seem like something weak, fragile, inaccessible, untouchable, inferior to men in intelligence, something that men can use for their pleasure. This is what people with less education think about women and this mindset cannot be changed because it is in direct conflict with religion (or at least the Mullah's religion which does prevail in most part of our society). Those who do challenge it are called "Bagairat", ultra modern, Kafir and what not.

i would say its more culture than religion but then religion itself is the product of the society... even if the whole pakistan becomes christian overnight, i doubt the attitude will change, may be the words will.

Islam only lays out the minimum framework of law. The details are for the society to sort out among themselves based on collective imaan of the society.

The situation is far far far far better in sub continent than most of the world. Our culture does not promote any of this.

From Durga to Kali mata
From Asiya to Maryam
From Rebecca to Rachel

Religion regards women highly. As a conservative society we are doing way better than expected.

But cultural taboo has to go before it becomes an epidemic.

That's why it is best advised to simply name blame shame and ek zoor ka chamaat.

Yahan chamaat sun kar sab bhai behen ban jatay hain. Be vocal but be truthful.

Had that Gulalai not made sexual harrasment a joke we would be more serious to this.

Nope.

Your religion does not award Eve the eternal sin.
Your religion lauds Asiya to make a political stand against the Pharaoh.
Your religion does not implicate Lots sisters for incest.
Your religion lauds Khadijas business sense and Zainab and Ayeshas historic speeches.
Your religion lauds Maryam for her piety.
Your religion came out for a woman first when infanticide was a daily abortion.

No sir. Think twice how you perceive religion.

Its just your culture which still shows women to conspire and misuse. Just watch a drama serial flick any channel you want.

Lets see what your culture has given Islam.

Karo kari
Honour killings
Acid attacks
Watta satta
Revenge rape
Segregation based on tribal cultures
Inheritance denial
Forced marriages

If you make it about religion. You make it personal.

I am a musalman I can't take this blatant provocation.

Bravo !
Our religion gave a salaam to khadija direct from Allah swt , people still having doubts are confused by the culture .
We need more people nd thinking like u, otherwise the islamophobic elements r going to ruin our deen. They are already at work so efficiently objectifying women in our religio .

Allah swt is very merciful nd just people ..plz.. dont get deceived by satan rather stand up for the injustice done here ..

Silent majority is like you.

The loud minority is ruling a silent majority.

Something's gotta give

How good it would be if our mullahs also deliever such lectures on power of women and her strength to men rather than focusing on how should she dress, how should she behave , how should she eat ...
I have only tariq jamiil to see who really talked to men about the problems of women in our soceity to men and how she suffers from our culture .

Why do you need someone else to explain you common sense?

Mullah is not a islamic profession.

People made it a profession out of tradition.
