Saudis came here in Pakistan, interviewed these doctors, selected them ........ and now all of a sudden, job criteria has changed?

They just came here for hr related issues as they were told that MD /MS programs are superior post graduate training programmes in Pakistan. You are only called as consultant once your fcps cleared.

Problem came from our side

Read:
University of Health Sciences Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Javed Akram dispelled the impression that the MS/MD programme was not a structured training qualification.

CPSP president Prof Dr Zafarullah Chaudhry could not be contacted for comments despite attempts. However, Dean (academics) of the CPSP, Prof Dr Ghulam Mustafa Arain, rejected the allegations levelled by the affected doctors and said the CPSP representatives had been promoting FCPS qualification during visits abroad to create a good image of Pakistan in the field of medical education.

Imagine Pakistani doctors are extremely successful in West and North America. And these .................
Problem came from our side...With some heads promoting one degree and not sending good signals about the masters program.

So why don't they offer up gradation courses instead sacking them?

Bro, MS program is more theoritical where as fcps is mainly based on practice. Infact you have to spend 36 straight hours in hospital atleast twice a week while doing your fcps. I experience it all the time in my family now :d MS programs are for other health related fields but in order to become consultant in surgery, paeds, gyne, radiology etc you have to do FCPS training. Fcps is equivalent to US residency programs in Pakistan, MS/MD are not.

Yes they are not but they are also not degraded programs. It kind of depends what health minister was looking for...
Coz to my understanding many gulf countries also have simple MBBS doctor

They can always do FCPS and mcps program if they clear fcps part 1 entry exam. It's way tough. U have 7 chances to clear the exam after compeleting your Mbbs. Those who couldn't, than opt for MS which though is 5 years program but lacks fcps quality and practice. Most of the top medical universities now only offer fcps training. Heck in Sindh, most of the MS programs are Unpaid especially in govt hospitals. Now imagine, u r doing ms program without getting paid... Who the **** does it....

Sometime back in punjab, MS / MD programs were unpaid but young doctors strikes got them funded by punjab govt.

Not anymore. Their standards have improved drastically. Dubia etc is now also considered as top health tourist country along with Singapore in Asia.

So saudis now want better quality only, like these doctors are useless for them.

The article clearly mentions quoting one of the affected doctors that ....... same programs from Egypt, india, bangladesh are acceptable for saudis.

Rejecting Pakistan’s MS/MD degree, the Saudi ministry of health claimed it lacked structured training programme, a mandatory requirement to hire medics against important positions. After the Saudi move, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain also took the similar step.

In India, MBBS doctors should go through some mandatory service before finishing the course. Then some trainging or years of service as doctor before applying for MD. May Pak structure lack any of those on the job training/experience. Any Doctors can confirm this!

MS / MD programs are done by doctors who wants to persue their careers in teaching profession not in hospital. Here pmdc association was trying to be play cute with Saudis but can't anymore.

I am unaware of their residency structure program but in Pakistan, its fcps post graduation thats make you a consultant.

One would need to compare the programs offered by these countries...

Like an Indian member just stated:

I don't understand our system.on One side our degree are rejected and on the other side you are still conducting exams for entry in these programs.3 days back the result came of MD entry test which was 9 percent

These gulf countries have very unjust standards like they not give work visa to a person who has completely recovered from Tuberculosis but in west such people are allowed for immigration as they consider discrimination due to history of past disease as inhuman act
