Pakistani doctors with MS, MD degrees sacked in S. Arabia

This is not the issue. It is open forum and we respect everyone opinion. If Pak govt policy was wrong or ill intentions, then KSA govt has all right to exercise and forcefully implement the given agreement to state of Pakistan.
But, there is lot of room to talk about this issue. I had interesting conversation with Pakistani doctor who works in UAE in group of doctors. Where he worked in tense situation, not because of govt policy, but the environment where powerful adopt tough policy without in the knowledge of govt.

Of course it is. Never said the opposite. However naturally the viewpoints will be purely Pakistani most of the time. Anything else would be strange. I am trying to give another perspective here. In this whole discussion nobody has mentioned the local circumstances that locals (citizens) are facing. The same locals that had no say in whether a foreigner took their jobs or not for obvious reasons due to the system in place in KSA.

This news evolves around less than 100 doctors across several GCC countries (KSA being one country just) and some broken Pakistani promises (medical institutions) back in 2016. That does not mean that there are no Pakistani doctors of today or won't be any in the future.

This news makes it sound like all Pakistani doctors in the GCC were rounded up and thrown out. Even those practicing for decades. This is pure bogus.

I don't know about the UAE but you can imagine that in a country where locals are outnumbered 8 times, certain nationalities (say Indians) will try to create monopolies and take over business later to give preferential treatment to foreigners.

If you ask me, I have always said this as you know, no sane country can survive with such a ratio of expats compared to locals. It is not feasible. Countries have the size that they have. Countries like Qatar should stop trying to act like a regional power with only 350.000 natives (citizens) just due to their natural gas wealth. What are they planning to do in order to grow economically? To import 5 million Brazilians so they can increase their population?

There should be a healthy balance. 50% of the expat jobs (especially lower paying that do not require much if any education) will be taken over by robots in the future or should be done by locals who have refused/not been able to finish a high education. That is why certain such jobs in KSA have been closed for any foreigners in order to let local teenagers (students) take those jobs like cashiers etc. in malls etc. The way to go.

KSA/GCC cannot save the entire world. There are 100+ million poor Arabs. Look at India next door. Immigration should be limited to highly educated/skilled workers and if countries want to help each other economically, they should improve their trade and create joint projects. Sending people is an outdated practice. It made sense 30-40 years ago when KSA had an insane building boom and a small population and needed hands.

It is not a good thing (long-term) for Pakistan either. Pakistani brains and hands are best served in Pakistan and likewise with any other country. Nobody else but ourselves will take the burden of creating well-functioning societies. Only locals by large. Of course with help from the outside like in any country and given the global world we all live in.

50% of KSA's population are women. More women than men have university degrees. Almost 60%. 70% of our population is below 33 years. Yet only 15% of the women work if not less. In which galaxy does that make sense for us as a country or economy? We are shooting ourselves in the foot. That and almost no taxation. This system cannot go on. That is why MbS came abroad and the Saudi Vision 2030 that many laughed about 3-4 years ago but not many do now seeing the effects. .

I would wish nothing more than to help ALL impoverished Arabs, Pakistanis and other historical friends of ours that we share religion, culture, geography, history , people to people contacts, blood etc. with. However we cannot do that. We have a high unemployment rate (youth in particular), most of our women (half of our population) are not working (despite being generally well-educated and wanting to work), our current system is far from perfect (economically) and we have many other challenges. People act like KSA or the GCC was some money well with endless money, no problems, everyone living in palaces and driving Ferraris etc. and other such nonsense. Thinking only about what the GCC can do for them. Why KSA is not doing that or this etc. We have done a lot for Pakistan. Every sane person and educated one would understand this. Do we, of all people, really need to prove this to educated Pakistanis here? Likewise the other way around.

Truth is, Saudi Arabia as a nation has been a great success story over the last 20 years. They are excelling in every field and Saudi Arabia is now a developed nation, with it's citizens enjoying a standard of living equal if not better than that of WESTERN Europe.
