What's new

Pakistani corner

That is all good and dandy that nothing happened of surgical strikes; but see any news on the Kashmir unrest lately?
Nothing
Not in intl media, not in Indian media.
Not even in our own.

That was the purpose, and that is achieved.

A couple of his friends there were getting impatient with him since he hadn't visited for a while. He was being hosted by the NLI at Bunji near Jaghlot, I hope he brings the pictures of the 1948 war memorabilia that he promised, and that cigarette burnt portrait of Quid-e-Azam. Would be fun to share them here.
Nice..Bunji should be transformed into a tourist site really.
Cool, just thought I'd ask, just in case. When you need it, there's no one coming. When you don't need it, everyone's coming
So true.

I fully agree with the lady when she said our actors are better than theirs, especially in the looks department.

A brutal but harshly realistic comment made by Oscar. He feels that depending on peaceniks like myself is useless, that things have deteriorated too much, that only going down the slippery slope to ruin and landing up on the pile of suffering at the bottom will teach us the lesson we need to learn. It is a bleak picture, but one that is becoming increasingly likely. I will attach the full quotation in a few minutes.

As I said elsewhere, the solution to the subcontinent's woes is not Aman ki Asha's but more sufferring at each other's hands. To where they stare at nothing more than burnt landscapes and hear each other's voices of "Bachao" and understand that it is the same word they used to ask for help in something they did to themselves.

I thought as much.

Maybe It doesn't have to be that way. While it is true that experience has no substitute and yet, in some cases, we do tend to learn from the experience of others. Maybe we don't need our own Hiroshimas and Holocausts to go crying into each other's arms. Maybe what we need is better exposure to humanity's experiences. I think It'll do us good if those unfortunate human experiences of the last century are made a part of our curriculum. Do you think such a thing might be possible?
