Pakistans obesession to TRY and achieve some form of military parity is destroying the pakistani nation.

In 10 yeats time todays gap of 8-1 in GDP will ne nearer 12-1.

India already outspends Pakistan military by 4 or 5 to one thanks to huge GDP.

IN 10 YEARS it will cease to be a contest... ANYMORE

There is no need to match. We are not in for a race. But we will make sure we have the capability that hurts India if threatened and this can be had equipping the smaller force with better equipment and having the strategic weapons program funded (both of these things are happening apace).

Unlike the Soviets, we have no intentions of matching a build-up. An economy being fueled by 170 million people will not remain stagnant. It is bound to reverse the trend upwards sooner or later.

Looks like you never read your own gen. Kapoora's statements. But why the hell am i comparing Kapoor with kiyani. Kiyani is a wise man on the other hand Kapoor.....just forget it.

How about I call your General "Gen. Kayappan"?? it have a good meaning in Malayalam.

Mods should take notice and take acton of those who intentionally misspell the name of respected people or we may be forced to do the same if there is no justice. I been noticing for a while Pakistani members misspell our General's name. Cant tolarate anymore.

i agree with you, we should not misspell names. They are the respected generals of their respective countries....... problems/debates are aside but whould call them with right respectful name

In The Holy Qur'an Allah says "Never say anything bad to the fake god of other religions because it is possible he will get angry and call bad to your TRUE ALLAH"

And some other verses says that We should not call anybody with bad names............. and should call with right name only

Lets grow up here and stop attacking personalities and twisting their names. I do not want to go through cleaning all of the mess that people have made with names. Lets clean up the act instead of having me and other mods clean up the thread.

I am sure the Generals on both sides have earned their ranks and the dignity that goes with their names. As much as some people from both sides may dislike the other side's military personnel, lets keep it off the forum.

So all India really needs to do is to never attack Pakistan and spend loads of money on counter insurgency, counter espionage and Afghanistan (to deter the inflow of insurgents)and the life for all will be much more peaceful..

If Pak havn`t become Nu-Clear power in 1998, then we might had situation like happened 1971 in end of 90`s.

Pakistan at all times will have the minimum deterrence capability in effect. Pakistan engaging in the race will only hurt itself. Pakistan has more to gain by not being in the race. Having the army India-centric is a good step.
