What's new

Pakistani Actress Reema Khan enters Israel and visited Dome of Rock

But the government is only being asked for funding poor people who have made her a celebrity.
Poor people who can't afford to perform the Haj are under no obligation to perform it. There is no religious requirement on the government to fund Haj. The government needs to focus on poverty alleviation etc.
This is not even a religious obligation. Just hording limelight by any means possible. Anything to be trending...
Don't read or watch the media coverage then and mind your own business instead of belittling people. No one is forcing the media to cover this and no one is forcing you to watch the media coverage.

Muslims pay the Zakaat to the State to help each other for such causes. The Hajj is the biggest yearly market, the jobs alone created through that can lift millions out of poverty.

You are accusing me of belittling a celebrity on an internet forum?

1.5 million of them!

I am soooo sick of this guy. He picks on a rumour/news and tries to give his own spin and adds soo much misinformation to it. Just thriving on suspense and gullible people clicking on his click bait thumbnails.

'Ghabrana nahi hai apney'
No one can sum it better then you.
He only picks up a headline, give it some twist and present it with his own narrative..
Even though he is very pro Pti, but he has also damaged them a lot by making videos against asad umer etc etc.
The guy is basically like most people in our society who become politicians by listening to news channels without the basic knowledge how things are done.
For example, I have clicked his videos regarding presidential rule, and it's all nonsence.
More then anything I want presidential system in Pakistan.. I know Imran khan would be open to the idea but he cannot achieve this. Why?
Because he don't have the 2/3 majority and even though after 1.5 years he would have 2/3 majority in senate but still lacks in parliament..
So there is no way he can do it unless someone helped him get 2/3 majority.

And some random statement that this system cannot work by Imran khan was taken as some secret hint or message he was implying to us and Haqeeqat TV was clever enough to understand it.

The purpose of Zakat is to alleviate poverty and assist the downtrodden. We can direct Zakat funds to subsidizing Haj when poverty is under control and other social issues are addressed.

What part of the Haj generates enough economic activity to ‘employ millions’? The travel agents? Some airlines? Is the subsidizing of Haj really going to generate ‘millions more jobs’?

With respect to belittling, it’s part of a broader pattern on the part of many to use religion/ religious morals to belittle people, not just celebrities, and its a toxic behavior.

I can understand why Pakistan is a failed economy.

We have gone through this and you did not fare any better back then as well.

You generate money with money. This is simple logic to understand in a thread about Egypt.
Show me some credible research showing some significant economic impact (and the resultant revenues to the government from taxes that offset Haj subsidies) from Haj subsidies and we’ll talk.

If government funding of international travel was such a major economic booster, then I and many others would like government subsidies to travel to the Caribbean, Europe etc.

I am sure if you can prove to the government that you cannot afford these, Muslims will allow you your pilgrim to your religious centers of Soddom and Gomorrah as well.

Spoon feeding leads to lazy babies but still

this is one economy where the government can tap the market for her own benefit. unfortunate incident to say the least.

It's not a religious pilgrimage at all - I just want to travel to exotic foreign destinations for vacation and fun, but since, according to you, the government subsidizing international travel results in some massive economic boom, why shouldn't the government also fund vacation trips for Pakistanis? Millions more Pakistanis would possibly travel then resulting in an even more massive economic boom! Why just limit it to international trips for the Haj?!

Where is the research pointing to a correlation between a government funding international trips for residents and a massive economic boom?

Because constitution guarantees religious rights not travelers rights.

You do not want to give Muslims their rights. Just be clear about it.

Its not exotic place. Its written on the Pakistani passport that we accept that we deny Israels existence.

But your argument so far was that subsidizing international travel (you used the example of Haj) would cause an ‘economic boom’! Shouldn’t the government increase the size of this ‘economic boom’ by subsidizing travel for ALL Pakistanis, regardless of reason.

Incorrect - I do not believe in the government subsidizing travel for ANYONE, not at the moment at least. Maybe down the road when the economy has improved and there is a revenue surplus.

I was referring to vacationing in the Caribbean and Europe.

No - your claim and therefore your responsibility to provide evidence to support it, and that applies to FC as well.

that is just an excuse. we do not need excuse. it is Muslim money and Muslims should have a say in how its spent.

vacation is not basic human rights. religious pilgrimage if stipulated by the religion as core article of faith, is a religious right for which muslims can spend from their savings.
