Pakistan woman stoned to death by family for marrying man she loved

LAHORE: A father and brothers of an unfortunate girl, who had married by choice, brutally murdered her outside the Lahore High Court (LHC) premises and escaped from the scene on Tuesday here, Geo News reported.

Police said that Farzana resident of Faisalabad had married by choice Iqbal of Jaranawala few months ago and she along with her husband was on way to the court for recording her statement, where her father and brothers in an ambush caught hold of her outside the LHC premises and started hitting her with stones until she died on the spot and the accused successfully escaped from the scene.

Police on information reaching the spot sent the body for autopsy and registered a case on complaint of the murdered girl’s husband Iqbal.

LAHORE: A woman was killed by her brothers on Tuesday outside the Lahore High Court (LHC) over marrying the person of her choice, Express News reported.

Her brothers pelted bricks on her, leaving her with serious head injuries which led to her death.

The victim had come to the high court from Faisalabad to attend a hearing of a case.

The suspects managed to flee after the incident. Police have taken the victim’s body into custody and further investigations are underway.
