Are we not fighting the same enemy who continues to prey on the lives of innocent civilians in their bid to destabilize the nation of Pakistan? Do you honestly believe the war on terror only applies to one side when in fact the homegrown insurgency continues to target the general public from all angles in Pakistan?

Have we not shown enough commitment to our maturing strategic partnership? If you still disagree then I will state some facts before you conclude that “Americans do not fit in any Equation of Pakistan”. The US works side by side with Pakistan to counter insurgency and provide sustained, substantial commitment. The Kerry-Lugar-Berman bill does that by providing $1.5 billion in economic assistance per year for five years. The provision of Coalition Support Funding, Foreign Military Financing, the Pakistan Counterinsurgency Fund, and other forms of security assistance provide further critical assistance for Pakistan’s security forces. All together, this funding and our assistance demonstrate America’s desire to strengthen this important strategic partnership and help our Pakistani colleagues.
Our Vice President has clearly stated,” No US boot will tread on Pakistani soil and there will be no violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity”. The words do not leave room for deliberation nor give rise to a new conspiracy theory or propaganda. The nations continue to serve the common good and the meetings between our officials is only strengthening our alliance. If something productive is meant to come out of it and the quote reflects respect for each other’s leadership then what is the benefit of bringing a negative spin to this matter and labeling it as “stress test”? We have always considered Pakistan a key ally and feel it is extremely important for both nations to support its mission of eliminating terrorism and leave no running ground for the terrorist. We are well on course and the announcement of our drawdown sets a timeline for the successful end goal. The remaining effort requires all partners to be on the same page, so one is not left behind while trying to accomplish the mission. Pakistan’s continued support is extremely vital and communication is the key as we certainly do not wish them to leave any stone unturned and be left with extra load. Pakistan knows that and hopefully these meetings between our officials will continue to discuss and implement productive strategies in countering insurgency.

While all of what you stated above is correct, you will have to admit that the rhetoric in the media of the US, and West in general, often sourced to 'anonymous US intelligence/military/administration officials' tells a different story with respect to US intentions towards, and views of, Pakistan.
The continuous regurgitation of accusations of 'Pakistan is supporting the Taliban' etc. tend to paint a picture different from that painted by the official 'PR releases and comments'.
If you are going to stick by your claim that the official position is the true one, then a more proactive effort to denounce and refute the claims attributed to the US military/intelligence/administration officials would go a long way in substantiating your claims that the US is not a duplicitous and disingenuous partner.
Take for example the unsubstantiated field intelligence reports released by wikileaks in its Afghanistan document leaks. Many of those had wild tales of Pakistani intelligence and military complicity with the Taliban, yet many former officials like Michael Semple pointed out that these reports were unsubstantiated and in their first hand experience they had witnessed Afghan governors and security officials giving instructions to concoct reports implicating Pakistan, in order to create an 'external enemy' and unite Afghans around the idea. The US, despite obviously knowing the unsubstantiated nature of these intelligence reports, chose to officially not refute them and point that out, and instead implied that they were true while stating that 'the reports illustrated nothing that was not already known'.
Therefore I have a lot of trouble believing your claims about US policies towards Pakistan, given the rather obvious contradictions between the PR releases of 'partnership and cooperation' and the US media reports sourced to 'anonymous officials' which the US rarely refutes, or comes to Pakistan's defence in.

Pakistan can be as rude as they want because American and US economy is now at the brink and they cant afford another war..Dont know about USA but here in UK conditions are getting worse..National debt stands at 4.8 trillion pounds,and all over euro zone countries are throwing in the towel asking for bailouts.
Mentioning UK and Eurozone because they are USA's biggest allies via NATO or other international Agreements.
Now these countrie's economic conditions wont allow any further expeditions.

Totally agree on that...we are fighting the same enemy...But at time USA doesnt play fair and thats all the protest is about...
Here in UK unlike previously many local Muslims are now volunteering for war in Afghanistan because now its nothing to do with religion..Its become a grudge war..
For the people of Pakistan Honoring their national integrity and not treating the country as garbage is more importantthan any donations America can possible make..Those donation dont trickle down to general public anyway and are for the most part consumed by Politicians and berocracy..so not of much importance to People.
Only if US policy makers were a bit respectful and had not bullied Pakistan, conditions had been much better..But the reality is that USA wants Pakistani people to keep shut while fighting the war against terror,and bear the biggest brunt in loss of life and finances and let them Bully Pakistan in every possible way while encroaching the boundaries on daily basis..This cannot be tolerated...or can it be?
Should Pakistan be bothered about if USA stays in Afghanistan or leaves..I think not...Thats for USA to decide..The only thing Pakistan can be concerned about is its national integrity..and its right to tackle internal problems on its own without foreign intrusion.

welldone .......... if us wants safe exit from afghanistan they usa should oblige pakistan .... otherwise we cannt guarrantee to them as we are now blaming nato for destroying containers..... they have to deal with pak army rather hiring pvt companies........and great game shouldnt be played it will not favour usa as well ......... otherwise we won't let it happen by the grace of ALLAH

Pakistan launches diplomatic offensive against ‘Great Game’
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has initiated diplomatic offensive to ward off any probability of play of so-called ‘Great Game’ in Afghanistan in the wake of beginning of withdrawal of invading troops of the US and Nato from that country.
The 120 days starting from mid-February would be crucially important with reference to situation in and around Afghanistan as the occupying forces are mulling over acceleration in action through use of brutal munitions by creating ‘shock and awe’ like scene.
June-July next have been marked for starting of withdrawal to be completed in 2014. Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir arrived in Kabul on Sunday morning for crucial talks with the Afghan leadership for establishing institutional interaction of two capitals. Pakistan is prepared to provide assistance to facilitate negotiations so that a peaceful settlement of upcoming situation could be made possible. Another Geneva like accord on Afghanistan could not be ruled out but ‘it would be too early to make any conjecture about that.’
Well-placed diplomatic sources told The News here Sunday that Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir who has been at the best during recent years in undertaking diplomatic moves while dealing with the diplomatic intricacies, would be returning today (Monday) and a high level meeting later this week would deliberate the outcome of the visit. Afghan President Hamid Karzai could also be among the interlocutors of the visiting foreign secretary before his return journey today. The visit of Salman Bashir who has gone on the invitation of Afghan government has been termed continuation of the process of close engagement between Pakistan and Afghanistan on matters of shared interest and concern.
It has been officially said that Pakistan and Afghanistan enjoy close, fraternal relations which received a new impetus with the visit of Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani to Kabul last month. The leadership of two countries has decided to intensify policy consultations and take further steps to strengthen bilateral relations in a comprehensive manner.
Talking to this correspondent before leaving for Kabul, Salman Bashir said that his sojourn to Kabul would greatly help Pakistan to strategise its position for the tripartite talks of Pakistan-United States and Afghanistan slated for next month in Washington. The talks are scheduled to commence on 22nd of February and likely to conclude on 24th. Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi will represent Pakistan. It will provide him an opportunity to have in-depth discussions with his US counterpart Hillary Clinton with whom he has not met for more than a month.
It is understood that the United States is keen to create space for an Indian role in the Afghan future scenario but the neighbouring countries of Afghanistan and major players in the war-torn country are not willing to grant such an accommodation. The countries of the region believe that any role for India could pave way for ‘great game’ in Afghanistan. Any great game would be fatal for the future of Afghanistan and the region would be consigned to burning for longer and unspecified period of time.
Pakistan has already made it emphatically clear to Washington that any great game in Afghanistan would not be acceptable to Pakistan and it will bitterly oppose such an eventuality. Iran is also among the countries that would not allow any such game to be played in Afghanistan because it would ultimately harm the interests of Tehran, the sources pointed out.
According to a message received late Sunday night from Kabul, Salman Bashir had an important meeting with Afghan President Hamid Karzai on the day of his arrival in Afghan capital. He discussed with him bilateral relations, as well as issues related to peace and stability in the region. The meeting lasted for over 75 minutes.
The foreign secretary also called on Foreign Minister Zalmai Rassoul and met with Deputy Foreign Minister Hakimi and Masoom Stanekzai, Adviser to President Karzai and Secretary of the High Peace Council under former President Burhanuddin Rabbani. Both the sides resolved to unite efforts for peace, reconciliation and common development.
Pragmatic steps will be taken together to promote bilateral cooperation. The foreign secretary conveyed Pakistan’s full support for Afghanistan-led peace and reconciliation in the war-torn country, underlining that stability, peace and unity of Afghanistan was in Pakistan’s vital national interest.
Both sides agreed to join hands in determining their own destiny with great hope and confidence. President Karzai appreciated Pakistan’s role and efforts. The two sides agreed to institute Foreign Secretary-Deputy Foreign Minister consultations.
Salman Bashir will meet former President Professor Burhanuddin Rabbani today (Monday) to further discuss peace efforts.
The diplomatic sources are of the view that Pakistan and Afghanistan are on the same page and writing together a new chapter of fraternal cooperation for peace and prosperity. I would disagree with a few things... America is not in Afghanistan for Taliban or whatever they claim to be there for... They are there for keeping Pakistan destabilized... let there be no doubts over this... Infact Americans are planning to keep troops in Afghanistan for a long long time...
As for the "great game"... The enemies of Pakistan who are now in the Pakistan government are not only tolerating but also participating in this game...

I would not be surprised now if a few top brass in the Pak Army are gunned down while praying Jummah in a mosque somewhere... This dirty game is being enforced on the people of Pakistan and our thick politicians and Generals are either total sell outs or too short sighted and brain damaged to see the danger that Pakistan is currently facing...
