Pakistan wants to bring together US and China to avoid 'Cold War-like' situation: PM Imran

When we had the cold war then there was a huge difference between economies of USA and USSR but the cold War was there,so it is all not about economy.Even if China surpasses USA economically but tussle will be there in SCS which will be worrisome for mankind.

Imran intention seems to be good but it is too difficult to make them come to a solution. We wish him luck.

Imran is the most peace loving of all Pakistani leaders starting the 1960s. I don't know enough about leaders before that. And Modi is the most hawkish of all Indian leaders--actually Modi seems better than Doval and Amit Shah, somehow, but I digress.

Well, if you have seen Mel Gibson's 'Apocalypto' then you'd notice the two native Americans trying to kill each other at the very end until they saw some other common, even bigger threat than each other. I believe if the Climate Change projections are as dire as they are then the big powers will see that as the common, even bigger threat and would have to work together a lot. That's my hope anyway.

Although the cold war like scenario may help sooth nerves of many countries currently facing political turmoil. The reality of the Sino American jostling is too complex to hold political gimmick.

Nevertheless, the show must go on. Pakistan should next leverage a non aligned treaty amongst various stakeholders of the conflict.

Don't need any treaty just stay silent and milk both sides. You have to be like the Japanese businessman just nod your head and nothing else --

This is what India aspires to do at the cost of being collateral.

Pakistan has no such luxury nor do many other countries whence faced with the question of with us or against us.

. . . .
M Imran said that the focus of his government was geo-economics, adding that his priority was to lift people out of poverty.
"Almost 25pc of the population lives under the poverty line and the main consideration is to lift them up," he said, calling China a "role model" in this regard.
"No country in human history has ever lifted so many people out of poverty in such a short [span] of time as China [has]."
He noted that the Chinese president had recently announced the end of extreme poverty in China, calling it one of the "greatest achievements in the history of mankind".
"My government's concentration is to somehow lift our people out of poverty and the model we look to is China's. This is where we hope to learn the most from China," he said.

Can this be done by 2050? I think Pakistan is 100 years away from a 1st world economy.

Honestly, India was doing pretty good until it decided to go Bollywood-style Rambo and put it's eggs in U.S. basket with the West. Look at its past during the Cold War saga, Pakistan would do good to emulate that type of foreign policy.

Remember often times a war is won before its fought, we need to learn how to maneuver the field without fighting.

Bhai,

Anything is possible as long you remove the corrupt judiciary who think they are some sort of Nabis' (may Allah forgive me for saying this) and establish a rule-based system where everyone is a peer without any social status non-sense or Karnel ki-biwi bullshit. Then you get competent individuals to build ground up institutions that were destroyed over the last 50+ years to be properly functioning, use the technology we have today to streamline the process. The recipe of success is there, you just need the will and a strong hand and force these changes once people see the results, they'll firm down to it.

Indian tales of short term benefits are for Kipling and you to sort out.

Pakistan has no conceivable reason to wish for any stage of any conflict, prolonged or short term.

In November 2021, both Pakistan and India held a security conference on Afghanistan.
The different attitudes of China, USA and Russia towards the two conferences have shown who is the real global politician in South Asia.

Relax guys, there is no tax on talks.
Maybe Imran just don't want to pick a side.
