PAKISTAN, TURKEY AGREE TO ENHANCE DEFENCE TIES

Pakistan and Turkey have agreed to enhance cooperation in diverse fields to further strengthen the bonds of friendship.

The understanding came at a meeting between Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif and Deputy Chief of Turkish General Staff, Republic of Turkey General Umit Dundar in Rawalpindi.

The Minister expressed Pakistan's desire to deepen, broaden and strengthen its partnership with Turkey in all fields including defence cooperation to the optimum level.

The Minister appreciated the role of Turkey in supporting Pakistan at all regional and international fora.

Turkish General also expressed similar sentiments for moving ahead in all fields, particularly promotion of mutual cooperation in defence.

Pakistan can get lot of stuff from Turkey. First our priority should be getting MRAP from Turkey at least two different MRAP. Hopefully Kirpi and Ejder. We also need to develop something similar to Javelin with Turkey. Also as Pakistan is going for new Assault Rifles it's time we go for new latest Optics and Night Vision equipment from Turkish companies such as Aselsan and 3E EOS

Pakistan and Turkey must work on SLVs and the whole gamut of space technologies since no Muslim country has the ability to launch satellites and Pakistan and Turkey are the two country most suitable to do the job.

Hamza MCV is a good option.. Homemade affordable and massive (upto 105 mm firepower)


Optics = IOP INSTITUTE OF OPTRONICS + local companies like Shibli etc

However Pak & Turkey should work on Arty systems etc big ticket items like choppers etc.

Its a shame that a country that has developed MIRVs,SLCMs,ALCMs,GLCMs,ASCMs and IRBMs doesnt even have a FnF ATGM..

Does Turkey have or is workin on a fire n forget ATGM? Something Pak lacks?

Also news is circulating about PA already selectin CZ 807.. would be nice to know about MPT-76 offer ?

Also i thought HIT had selected Aselan for imagery systems for AK.. considerin similiar French & Shibli systems were considerably expensive... How about AKOR? Hope they replace the Varta I APS.

Shibli isnt the only private company.. there are several like DSA ( Offering AGLs,UBLs,small arms,Spyder RCS etc),Intergrated Dynamics (UAVs),Integrated Defence Solutions (Guided bombs,Precision AT cluster munitions),Blitzkrieg DS,ALTOPS etc etc
