Because those Toyota pic up trucks are used behind the front lines as a light utility vehicle not on front lines, as main jeep the army uses the Land Rover Defender 110
, it is protected by bullet proof glass , B6 level protection body ( works against High power rifles ) , Run flat tyres and blast protection of floor against 3 kgs of TNT. They are pretty good for now . The army will soon also likely begin induction of the Interceptor

As for Frontier Corps they also uses the Muhafiz armored personnel carrier in large numbers , Toyota isn't used in fighting

As police the Toyota pic up trucks are good enough for a law enforcement, they aren't fighting a was , for heavy duty they also have APCs

None of the Defenders have any kind of protection except for the steel plates at the back to protect the troopers which too has low utility against heavy weapons like 12.7. I don't know where you're getting your information from. I've seen how defenders are blown into pieces by İEDs.

What a rouse by HIT.

This is a vehicle brought by a local private firm CAVALIER from an Easter European manufacturer with design and everything. Not a single unit is being used by Pakistan by any LEA's. Supposedly the 6 ordered units will be manufactured at HIT yard by this private firm who in the past has ZERO credibility of making anything of the sort.

I personally feel that the 8x8 HAMZA and now this 6x6 INTERCEPTOR are not what they are projected to be. I have serious concerns on the credibility of this project

Subj to successful completion of this pilot contract, it is likely that a series contract of minimum 50 more vehicles would be further awarded.

This most certainly NOT MADE IN HIT and cannot be made in HIT owing to their present state of equipment etc.

Pakistanese ‘Interceptor’ light protected vehicles for Bahrain

The defence production sector of Pakistan has signed a deal to export locally manufactured light armoured vehicles called ‘Interceptor’ to Bahrain.

Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT) — a defence industrial complex which manufactures and rebuilds tanks and armoured personnel carriers for the military — will manufacture six “Interceptors” for the Bahrain National Guards.

Sources said a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between HIT’s chief Lt.Gen. Muhammad Naeem Ashraf, and Lt.Gen. Mohammed Bin Isa Al Khalifa, the brother of Bahrain’s King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa. They said the vehicles are dedicated to the civil armed forces to control limited violence and internal security.

Unveiled at IDEC 2017 defense exhibition in Bahrain, the 4x4 vehicle is based on a commercial Toyota chassis and designed for security purposes. Heavy Industries Taxila offers two levels of protection to be placed on the chassis: a B6 or B7 armored capsule. The Gulf region has been targeted for the design, as there is a constant demand. North Africa appears to also interesting for the marketing of the “Interceptor”.
