USD 10B is a cooked up figure, all we face is some higher level of scrutiny on our international exchanges/remittances etc. There may be some additional cost to the higher scrutiny but 10 Billion is just not possible where our total export is around 23 Billion.

Making rules strict for money laundering which was soft n was used by Elites of Pakistan , strict checking n monitoring on border crossings , improving banking system n strict businnes rules e.t.c will help Pakistan in a long run . I hope u understand this . Grey list will help Pakistan n its institutions . Grey list wont effect IMF , World bank , Asian D Bank , international investment . Being in Grey list will give an excuse to Pakistan to improve its system which was neglected by elites of Pakistan . Black list is a different story n alot of problems for the economy .

I know that, and that's why India had pushed for Pak to be put into grey list in the first place.

The only thing you are wrong about is grey list not affecting lending institution. The grey list makes it tough for Pakistan to seek loans from EU, World Bank or IMF.

We are serious about terrorism that's why we pushed for Pak to be put in grey list so that if they don't clean their mess on their own, atleast they are forced to do so by FATF.

We have been in grey list in the past as well even on the year when former Pakistani PM and China's Xi announced land mark CPEC project in 2014 and from that point Chinese investment started to flood Pakistan despite of we being in grey list.

Sure China will continue to invest in Pakistan in CPEC and if IMF doesn't bail you out, China will provide more low interest loans. And you become another country like Sri Lanka or one of the African nations that get lured into the Chinese debt trap.

The reason China is investing in Pakistan is CPEC because they want access to Africa, Europe mind you. Not because they see Pakistan as a huge market, you are a route not the destination for them.
