‘Pakistan to launch 3G in first quarter of 2014’

You should thank the Americans for that.

Otherwise , Afghanistan is a 10th Century country on its own.

Are you really that naive? Americans have nothing to do with our telecom services and investments, we have 20 million GSM users out of 29 million population of Afghanistan and the good news is we are going for 4G very soon. :)

. .
WTF Pakistan is waiting for 3G. Why your govt is delaying this. I am using 4G in Chandigarh Punjab.

.
They don't have 3G, not a big deal. But to drag India's name, giving BS info just to feel good that too from a minister is pathetic. But I am not surprised though, for obvious reasons....

.
We're now 1/3rd of the way into the first quarter of 2014. What progress has been made?

.
Thanks to Last govt otherwise we also would have 3g ever since 2009.

Though i heard that after 2 months of 3g launch, they will launch LTE aswell onwards.if so than Good

.
We should give licence of 4G not a 3G.Srilanka already using 4G network and now it is available in the market then why we are going to old tech.?

.
Can somebody post difference between 3G, 4G & LTE?

We have Telenor, Mobilink, Warid, Ufone and Zong....5 companies to date.

WOW, for me this is very intresting, none of these networks are popular in india. Why has airtel , vodofone (these are foreign companies) not made a pitt stop in pakistan...i would imagine it would be a lucrative market. Judging from these names these are chinese and pakistani domestic companies. How is the domestic competition, or does one network hold monopoly over the tarriff?

B/c govt issued licence to 5 company only and if they asked then why not. answer for bold part is in early years Mobilink was holding monopoly but now its even and based on services and only ufone is Pakistani. Zong is Chinese and Mobilink is Eygptian company and rest are european

I think you are the one who is naïve.

" Very Soon " you are going to go back to 7th century, as the NATO Forces get the heck out of Afghanistan in 2014.

Remember your friends the " Taliboonis ". They have a plan to make " Geethur Malang " out of " Sher Malangs " of Afghanistan.

4G is on cards.

We ought to work with the Chinese firms like ZTE, ZONG and Huawei for 5G network by 2025.
