Pakistan to emerge as major bike maker in years ahead

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will be amongst the top five countries in the world which will produce and export high quality motorcycles in the next few years.

This was stated by Senior Managing Director of Honda Motor Company Japan, T Oyama, Technology Times Reported.

He said that the production capacity will be increased to one million units during the next few years.

He said collaboration between Atlas Group Pakistan and Honda Japan is amongst the oldest in joint venture history of Honda Motor Company anywhere in the world.

With the support of the government through Economic Coordination Committee, the localization in the motorcycle industry can continue and bring more profits.

USD 800 thats roughly INR 42000 now thats way too much for a 70cc 2 stoke bike in India u can easily get a decent 100cc 4 stoke bike with alloy wheels n electric start for near about the same amount...

All i can say that Japs r looting Pak by selling 70s bike at 2012 prices...

Sometimes i don't understand why isn't the domestic industry in Pak progressing i mean even BD is manufacturing its own bike although they still import the engines from Chinese n Japs but atleast they r progressing even though there GDP is nearly half of urs with near about same population n less developed basic industrial base like Iron n Steel....

Athough Discover 100cc also looks similar n comes for around INR42000...

Atlas is sh*t they are still stuck with old bikes :S Ravi have done much better by having joint venture with piaggio and started manufacturing good bikes
