Pakistan to buy Air Defence Systems from Turkey

. .
Local resources shared information on the establishment of a common air force training infrastructure. We know that evaluations continue.

I watched the president's press release. There was no declaration about air defense systems.

However, within the scope of the MILGEM project, Korkut CIWS system could be evaluated. Or the HISAR-NAVAL system as an ESSM counterpart can be evaluated.

I do not want to generate speculation, but if this information correct, I would like to remind that Turkey is currently working on an air defense system called SIPER. The completion date for the project is 2021.

With last years, sales to Pakistan include technology transfer, unlike in other countries. Therefore, if there is an air defense system on table, the negotiated situation is probably joint project.

But as I said, no such information was given in the press release. If the Pakistani sources have not received insider, it may have been a translation error.

If i am not wrong HISAR is not even ready ? @cabatli_53

Turkey and Pakistan negotiated over active trials of Korkut CIWS in Pakistan. Maybe, the air defence system refers to potantial Korkut system procurement for Pakistan.

Besides, Hisar missile family is in active trial phase and will be completed in 2019/2020 for Hisar-A/O, while Siper long range missile defense system will be ready for operations in 2021.

I will appreciate if you can share the pic of Korkut...Thanks

Edit: explanation for non-Turkish speakers…
In summary; In October 2018, it was stated that the Cirit and L-Umtas G/M shots were successfully carried out in the Aegean Sea on-board Burak Class ( ex-D'Estienne d'Orves-class A69 type Aviso ) corvettes.

The highlighted part is where Turkish President said that we bought Trainer Jets from Pakistan and they would buy Air Defence systems from us.

The highlighted part says, "Missiles involved in Turk Defence, will be sold to Pakistan".

How are you misquoting and mis translating that as "Air defence", and giving a title to a whole thread over it?

There are already talks of buying missiles from Turks, and there have been some threads over it as well. ATGM's and Air to Ground Missiles in particular where it actually makes some sense. But misquoting and creating false speculation over nothing?

We can't keep buying combat untested weapons, we need proof of performance and valid results and data.

The only people who can provide combat tested systems are the Americans and the UK. All of the Chinese systems are not combat tested, most of the Russian stuff is not combat tested(though some of that has changed with Syria). How is Turkey stuff any different than Chinese stuff ?

At least the Turkish stuff has been specified and build to NATO standards with all the experience that entails.
