Pakistan To Build $1.6 Billion Hydro Project In Disputed Kashmir Area

What is the difference as long you are inssured.

The point being, if China undertakes the project and the insurance, and if stuff happens, there will be double losses to the Chinese part of the business. If everything goes smoothly, the Chinese will get double gains.

It's all about the risk that one can bear.

In the past, when the Chinese launch foreign satellites, I remember (if correctly) a 3rd party foreign insurer(s) was normally engaged.

Business is all about risks my friends. Besides with the construction of 3 gorge dams and diverting of river water from Tibet highlands which essentially makes China the master of life (Water) with its feet on the necks on both India and Pakistan. Don't even have to worry about Kashimir no more, the river might not even pass from there if the Chinese want. Guess the dragon finally have the Elephant and the tiger in its coil (try to guess which country is which  ) . Displease the dragon and see your arable lands turn into deserts in months and your populous die of thirst, 100% guarantee :woot: . Guess now would be a good time to remind our big neighbor about the "all-weather friendship" and "hindu-chini bhai bhai" ey?

Too bad for India that they are choosing to gravitate towards the US at the expense of their relations with Russia, a new Chinese ally. Pakistan can take advantage of China's growing ties with Russia to improve it's own relations with Moscow while India tries to please Americans.

Today there was a news in ToI that Chines Cos are pumping over Rs8 hundered crores in Karnatka (India ) :) will you worry more about their activities. ;)

Didn't read bout that. Care to give a link?

In other words all risks lies with China!

With double gains you mean Chinese inssurance companies will be profited as well the construction company! I guess after the success of this project Pakistan should inssure all their projects with Chinese companies and decline all those who decline in this project.

I wish Chinese good luck and zero loss.

Pakistan To Build $1.6 Billion Hydro Project In Disputed Kashmir Area
ISLAMABAD
-(Dow Jones)- Pakistan’s federal government will construct a 969 megawatt hydropower project at a cost of $1.6 billion in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir, the country’s caretaker Finance Minister Salman Shah said Wednesday.

The Neelum-Jehlum Hydropower Project will be built by a consortium consisting of China Gezhouba, CMEC China and Neelum-Jehlum Project Co., a government-owned unit.

“To finance the project, a 10 paisa-per-unit tax will be imposed, which will collect $100 million per year for eight years. For the remaining $800 million, Islamic bonds will be issued on the international market,” Shah told Dow Jones Newswires.

The company will later issue shares on the stock market and will be able to issue Global Depositary Receipts as well, Shah said.

The project, which is expected to take eight years to complete, involves diverting water through a 47-kilometer tunnel to power stations.

Yes you are right. They think they can do whatever they want to...
If they can, so can we....
