A very tough ask $30b, $24-$26 is more realistic IMo. Let's see how they perform for the remainder of this year ( They are certainly poised to achieve close to their target of $20b this year with the capacity enhancement gradually coming online starting in the latter half of this year ).

Their demanded tariff is too low already both electricity and LNG are given at subsidised rate, government has extended it till June 2022 but with a marginal increase last month ( can't recall the exact tariff), their competitive markets energy pricing have also gone up considerably during the past quarter.

Gas supply to textile units in Punjab is halted due to shortage. another setback for the target to be achieved.

Great news!.. IT sector can also do wonders given the right policies by government.

Also, we need to bring quality marketing in defense sector. So many organizations, thousands of employees and very tiny orders. Need professionals in defense sector for its marketing and promotion.

This isnt an unrealistic target. There was a massive uptake of the govt scheme launched at the beginning of 2020 to promote the textile industry. A massive number of machinery will be going online within the next couple of months.

Also, understand that Natural Gas isnt the only source of energy available to Pakistan. Pakistan under NS (he screwed up of course) installed at least 3 times as energy as was actually needed. Pakistanis and the govt are already making the payments, regardless of the fact that these power houses aren't actually producing any energy. As soon as these machines from the textile go live, a lot of energy can be started to be utilised. The only catch there is that the govt will have to massively subsidise this energy consumption. This would provide a lot of assistance to lowering of the circular debt too.

This might sound dumb, but why do the textiles industry need gas?
